Email marketing has a great ROI, but not everyone uses it. A lot of people, businesses included, are going towards social media marketing because it's easier to do and there is less of a chance of getting your email burned lol. The biggest thing when it comes to email marketing is building your lists, which takes an extreme amount of time before you have anything great. Another downside of email marketing is that you're at the mercy of your recipients. If only a few of them start spamming your emails then you will start hitting the spam box on your initial send outs and not the inbox. Not getting your emails in-boxed is like doing a ton of work and not getting credit for it when you're finished.
I've done email marketing in the past and it's always hit or miss for me. I get impatient when it comes to building lists and when I send out an email I want everyone to open them and come buy what I have for sale. Email marketing doesn't happen this way, not even close, if it did we would all be millionaires I've had some emails get blacklisted and not get even a single email in-boxed while other times I've gotten thousands of emails opened from my lists and made pretty good money, but it varies for every niche.
Why don't the majority of businesses use email marketing?
Well when it comes to email marketing, not many people have huge lists and that means it's more beneficial if they just focus on social media marketing. With email marketing you can't just buy a 100,000 list and think you're going to be able to upload it and send to every person in that list without any repercussions. You'll likely get banned before the entire list gets out. You'll actually get banned pretty quick and you'd be lucky to get 2,000 of those emails out.
Why do people and businesses prefer social media marketing?
This is actually pretty simple. The reason is because social media marketing won't get you banned unless you're automating the hell out of it and breaking the rules when you follow/unfollow profiles lol. The ROI on social media marketing is still pretty crazy, but email marketing is better. People aren't putting their profiles at risk if they blatantly market to people on social media platforms and for that one reason, they prefer to go after social media. New marketers and veterans will usually go for social media marketing because there is much less in terms of setup costs. You literally just have to set up your profiles and begin posting lol
In Conclusion:
If you're great at email marketing, more power to you, but not everyone is as technical as you. It's easier for the majority of people to get into social media marketing because everyone has access to it It's more than posting an image or link on facebook, you'll have to get detailed and read a bit to figure out what works best. Add tags, links, images, videos, etc. in order to increase your engagement and make that money

Have a wonderful day.
Thank you very much for the nice topics. E mail marketing in this world is rare. There have some policies. If you have a list of 10,000,00 e mail addresses and you send a mass e mail on this list- maximum people will try mark you spam. This spam marking will make your website penalized on google + many other search engines. If you send any service news than you can get banned also for getting spam reporting. E mail owners mentality is not same on every time.
One type of e mail marketing is safe. Like you have a website and there is a pop up box for collecting e mail addresses. Than it is safe. You can do E mail marketing by your own collection based and only same interest based.
Thanks
