What are the main benefits of being a freelancer for you?

Working from home is something that I simply love. For starters, there is always that great feeling that you are your own boss; nobody likes to work for somebody that is constantly pressuring them to complete the work on time or to follow certain rules. I get to set my own deadlines and working schedules and I love it.

Also, the idea of having to commute to and fro from the place of work to your home and back is quite a problem, especially for those who do not drive. For those who do drive, there is a common problem of having to forge out quite a bit of money on fuel costs, especially if the distance they need to cover is significant. In such a case there is also the issue of the amount of time that they have to spend driving. There are many who need to go through areas that are generally stuck in traffic, which ends up prolonging the lost time further.

Simply considering this, I am all for work from home. So it may make much more sense for you to look for a good work from home job opportunity, such as freelancing here on SeoClerks.

Another vote for freedom. You don't have to answer to a boss, you don't have to be somewhere between a certain period of time (IE: 9-5 at the office), you can come and go as you please and you can work as much or as little as you prefer.

The downside is you have a thousand bosses in the form of customers/clients. All of them have varying levels of demand and attitude from the gentle to aggressive.

Freelancing is equal to freedom to a very large extent. So I totally enjoy the freedom that comes with it.

The convience of working at one's pace and time .

Making money and saving it the way one likes.

Doing the job according to how one wants to do it.

Freelancing = Freedom What are the main benefits of being a freelancer for you?
After many years spend working other different things, freelancing really set me free somehow. Many times i am working lot more then standard 8 hours shift somewhere but i feel so good even when i have to spend 14 hours a day as a freelancer. I like it and i enjoy it. When i get tired i go for a walk by the river and relax in peacefulness of nature, because dealing with some clients can be pain sometime, but after all, every work have it's own difficulties...

I just enjoying work at home as i like!

Totally agree What are the main benefits of being a freelancer for you? I try to set up a timetable or schedule to plan in advance how I will be dealing with orders and so on. And in that way I will know quite well what I need to do every day, while also being aware of certain days when I will probably be too busy. In such cases I try to find ways to deal with that, and often I manage quite well.

For me it's all about deciding when and what to do, at what time. Which basically could be called freedom. When I first started out, working from the comfort of my own home was the best experience I ever had but it definitely made me lazy too. Instead of proper planning and managing things properly I sat around relaxing which resulted in 18+ hours of work right before deadlines. I have learned since then and nowadays I'm following a "to do" list each day. That's the best way for me to make the most out of the time I have.

I like being a Freelancer because I can be my own boss. A team of great people I've trained myself is another major asset which not only make me my own boss, but also a boss over others. I love the responsibility that comes with these things and I've never been more satisfied with the position I have today. With that being said, there's both ups and downs.

A downside with this kind of job, is that you can literally never estimate your earnings properly as you'll make more money one day compared to the next, at least that's how it works for me, and that's quite terrifying, especially when you're just starting out. That's also the reason I'd never recommend anyone to commit themselves fulltime before a "trial run" so to speak. You'll need to work yourself "up the ladder" and start making a decent extra income before you can commit yourself fulltime online.

Best Regards,

Thanks for your feedback. It was very insightful to discuss this with people who engage in the same things I do. I would also like to add another thing - That there is also the problem of high unemployment in many countries, and most people are not willing to spend a lot of time searching for vacancies, posting CVs, applying here and there, or going for countless job interviews, only to end up being rejected over and over again. Overall, the idea of being under somebody else’s control in a 9-to-5 job is not something that people look forward to.
Also, subtle features like age discrimination, and inequality in wages, as well as gender discrimination is unfortunately, still quite common. There are also office politics, and racial segregation that can end up creating a big problem for the people that happen to be from the minority sectors.

With these factors, and the time spent traveling freelancing surely seems extremely advantageous. Many people end up wasting a lot of valuable time simply traveling to and from the place of work, time which they would rather have spent doing something more productive or enjoyable such as being a freelancer from comfort of their own house!

Hi I have been working on online over 7 years and I faced many ups and down as a freelancer career. Though I am not happy to identify me as freelancer, rather I used to say me as outsource contractor. This word make me more responsible for such job. Somebody say freelance career a free and freedom career. I do not fully agree with those word, Rather this career will make you more responsible for your daily work. Yes one of sense this is freedom life, you do not need to face your boss directly etc, despite of if you professional freelancer you can not manage much time for your personal life. Myself still working 7 days in a week and over 15 hours in a day.

Below I am going to say some advantage as a freelancer
1. Becoming a freelancer is that you can work whenever you want.
2. When you work for someone else, you don’t get a choice of who you work with.
3. Freedom of job and you can choose any work freedom and between you and client no boss is there
4. More time you can consider for your family, nobody can not ask you why and when you will go here and here
5. You can keep all the profit and benefit from your client

But my personal opinion I am very happy to do work as freelancer or outsource contractor as fulltime profession. And almost 5 years I am working on seoclerks and I am very happy and feel freedom for everything. SEOclerks give me dependable and freedom life. And remains career, I will do job on ioinicware.

Thanks by ajlancer

If you are working as a freelancer as your main job, then the main benefits is the flexibility. I can work whenever I want, wherever I want. Of course everything depends on the amount of work I have but when I have less work, I can be very free with when I do work and I don’t have to follow that 9 to 5 schedule. However, obviously, I may not have this flexibility when I need to meet deadline for clients. Another important benefit is not having to go to travel during rush hour. It is also so much better to use that extra hour of travel time to sleep and you don’t have to drink so much coffee because you actually had enough sleep. The main problem with working as a freelancer is not having enough security; the amount of jobs you will get is very unstable and you don’t get paid if you are sick.

If you are being a freelancer along with a full time job, then you lose most of the benefits because you still have to travel and have twice the workload but of course you get twice to pay. With such workload, there is no flexibility.

With the all-day traffic on the roads here, it's nice to imagine that working at home can save me not only time but most especially the stress of travel particularly so that I drive my car. The effort exerted in freelancing is worth it when compared with working in an office.

When I decided to become a freelancer, I had following reasons:
Become my own boss
Work according to your convenience and have your own working schedule
Work from home
Earn maximum (there will not be a fixed salary just like in a regular job) without investment (all you need is skill, a computer, computer programs and internet).
Except earning part, everything still hold true.
