Anyone used flippa before?

It is very popular but I want to see if anyone has ever sold or bought a site from them before?

I am planning on buying a site but not sure if it is safe or not.

Scammers are everywhere, there are few rules you must follow. Even GA screenshot is not enough since it can be photoshopped. Sites are usually worth monthly profit x 10, 12 or 24. I guess after the latest Panda and Penguin updates, there are a lot of people selling their sites with earnings and GA screenshots before Google's updates.

Watch out for tricks like "This site has huge potential" (so does Facebook clone script) and "I haven't monetized my website yet" (or his Adsense account is banned). GA screenshots (if they aren't photoshoped) are only legit if you get complete report. Fake traffic can be bought for few bucks and it makes traffic stats look pretty good and increase "value" of a site very much.

Request for stats for longer period of time, like 1 year. Anyone can spend 1000$ on marketing and get 800$ back with sales to make it look good. If price seems too low, it is probably a scam. People on some forums are selling sites which make 2000$ (fake, scam) for 3000$. Pure scam.

Last but not the least: Make a complete plan what would you do in future with that site and how would you improve it.

Used it a lot and I've sold a lot but the community is a bunch of dickheads. They try to beat down your site and numbers just to entice you to lower your price. When you delete negative posts even if they are against the TOS, if reported to the mods they are restored. I'd rather sell my site somewhere else.

I personally never have, but I know someone who made the grand mistake of falling for buying a site that had claims such as "unlimited earning potential!" and she wound up buying a site "worth" $10,000 according to the sell, and lost about $40,000 or more when she realized the business was a lemon.
On the other hand, I know someone who bought a site for 100.00 and built it up and resold it for 1500.00.
The system CAN work if your careful.
Just do your research on the site you want to buy. Google can be your friend here.
See if the site has any bad reviews, and go to sites like cubestat and check the stats for yourself.
Just be careful and do your homework. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I have browsed and sold one site before but nothing more. I have a few issues with their system and how things are done so I prefer selling a site by way of forum posting, etc.
