There are millions of people on LinkedIn each day, and you are likely missing out on leads if you're not optimizing your profile. You could have them coming to you on auto-pilot if you had done everything right, so by reading this discussion you're on your way, so be sure to stick around until the end
LinkedIn is one of the biggest social platforms in the world and is the largest one for businesses. You can create a profile, optimize it for rankings, and convert people without talking to them until they're ready to make a purchase. It's pretty amazing what you can do with a simple profile and funneling, so let's get into it!
Optimize your profile for SEO
A big thing people don't always think about is optimizing their profiles for the internal searches ran by LinkedIn users. There are millions of searches performed each day for specific types of businesses someone needs. If your profile is ranking near the top of these searches, you'll likely get a profile view, and that means you can start the conversion from stranger to client!
Back in the day, you could keyword stuff your profile and rank for whatever you wanted on LInkedIn. Those days are gong, and they've gotten a little more strategic with who they show in the rankings. I used to keyword stuff back in the day, rank for anything I wanted, and funnel dozens of leads to my website with ease. Now you need to take the basic SEO steps and optimize your titles, descriptions, and even your jobs if you want to rank. I won't go into detail about this, because it's basic SEO that anyone knows, so let's go onto the next point
Use custom images that stand out
Stop using basic stock photos you found online! These types of images don't convert a business owner into a client because we've all seen the basic stock photos, and they're not tricking anyone into thinking you're better than you are. Instead, use high quality images from a platform like Unsplash.com and stand out from the crowd.
You can use images from Unsplash for free, and you can give credit to the photographers, but it's not necessary, which is why I tend to gravitate towards the images there. I will sometimes give credit if the site I'm using them on doesn't need to be seen as a super authority, but I don't always do this, and you don't have to either.
Publish content to LinkedIn the same way you would on a blog
Treat your LinkedIn profile and business profile the same way you would your blog. Write content specifically for it, make sure it's unique, make sure it's optimized, and you've been amazed how much traffic you can pull into your profile this way.
I've written plenty of articles for my LinkedIn profile and funneled massive amounts of traffic towards my websites. This works the same as SEO, and it will compile over time. The more content you're putting on your profile, the more likely you'll get found for specific keywords, and the more traffic you can pull into your profile and website.
Use #hashtags strategically
Not many people are using hashtags on LinkedIn because they either don't know they can, or they don't like doing it. You can use plenty of hashtags within your content, just don't go overboard, and you should be able to pull in some additional views.
I will use 3-5 hashtags in my content or within the tags of each post I make on LinkedIn, and it seems to work pretty well at generating profile views Remember, profile views can easily be turned into sales if you have everything optimized
Final thoughts,
LinkedIn is a powerhouse for B2B sales and shouldn't be thought of as a place where you need to be a massive company to acquire clients. Their advertising platform is super expensive at $1-$2 per click, but you can avoid all of that if you optimize your content and pull in views organically. Think about it, you can write content for free, publish it for free, and optimize it for free to pull in 100-200 people a day or you can pay $400 to LinkedIn to do the same thing. What would you choose?
