A lot of people want to put up listings on Amazon and become a power seller, but that's just not going to happen for everyone. The main reason this will not happen is that the majority of people out there will list something and forget about it, think it's a failure, then they will move on to something else.
What you need to do is stay focused and keep working on your products so they do sell and you move up the rankings within Amazon, so your products get seen as much as possible! It's not an easy thing to do, but it's possible since many sellers are currently doing this.
Below are a few things you need to focus on if you want to become a successful seller on Amazon.
Think as the buyer would
You need to be as descriptive as you possibly can when you're listing a product on Amazon because you're never sure what little detail is the trigger for your next buyer.
Add sizes, colors, some reviews, who you are, what your business is about, etc. The more information you can add into the product listing, the more likely you'll gain a sale, and that means you're moving up the ladder of success one step at a time.
I've been on Amazon plenty of times and thought "Well, how wide is this fish tank?" or "What material is this shirt made out of?" because there wasn't enough information within the listing. I left that product and found something the same from another buyer who listed all the information that answered my questions and bought from them.
Love what you're doing (duh)
If you look at this as if it were a burden, you won't be successful at it. Sure, you could get some sales here and there, but in the end, you won't be happy, and that means you'll try to do something else instead of put products on Amazon and edit them until they start to become profitable.
You can't get down if the sales aren't rolling in, it happens at first, so what you need to do is optimize your listings and offer a fantastic product. Wear the clothes you're selling, use the candles you have listed, and genuinely like what you have listed on Amazon so you know every little thing about them for later on.
Edit your listings until they're successful
Like I mentioned above, you need to optimize your listings if you want them to be as successful as possible. No one will find your Homemade Candles if they aren't optimized for the search results. Sure, you have a beautiful image that shows the product, but you don't have any keywords in there for people to find through a basic search.
After you optimize everything, you need to make sure you're getting positive reviews. This is one of the main things that will make or break a listing. You need to ship out the item quickly if you're not doing FBA (fulfilled by Amazon), you need to make sure it's high quality, and you need to follow up to see if they will leave you an excellent review if they loved your product (they should if it's incredible).
In the end, becoming an Amazon power seller and becoming successful selling on their marketplace takes time. You probably won't notice success rolling in until you've got a few sales and to get sales you need to optimize everything. If you don't know how to think like a buyer, have a friend look over your listings and ask questions about it. They'll tell you the truth, and you can tweak your listing based on that
