Depends on the site and the app! Some websites are more convenient to access in their full form since some apps don’t load certain functionalities very well. In saying that when apps are well designed I prefer those for speed and ease of access.

I would have to agree that even well known companies like PayPal have incomplete and even glitches when it comes to their apps. I tried using the PayPal app and there's a lot of features which are not available, that's why I'm still accessing the full site, it's more reliable.

I believe that URL's are a better option, because people still find it easier to just follow a URL and open a new tab, than install an application to see content! You know that some people still access Facebook through the browser on their phones to save space!

Yes,I for one don't like the app version of most sites because of the space there might take up in my phone and sometimes taking them from third parties comes with viruses which can make one's phone malfunction so the URL is always better.

If the website can do what I need, then I'll always access it through a browser. I think apps that offer a function without much variation or benefit compared to the website is a waste of space. My phone's storage tends to get full quickly, so I have to constantly delete apps. The only apps that I use that have a website counterpart are mainly for banking because you can do transactions more easily and faster.

That's a good point - I often download apps and with some, I don't end up using them all that much. Then after a while I end up having to delete a ton of stuff that is essentially wasted space on my phone.

When space is at a premium on your devices, URL's are easier than downloading individual apps.

I prefer applications as i can open them easily without much hassle. With a Url, once i have closed the page, finding it can be difficult if i have not bookmarked it but finding the right application to open is easier, for me. Some sites have the advantage of retaining all the functionalities that the app doesn't have and that could be a major disadvantage but with an app that retains all functionality, i don't need urls

I prefer mobile-friendly websites. Why? Because apps can usually only be accessed if you have a phone. Whereas a mobile-friendly website can be accessed via phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.

It really depends. Some websites are working better as websites but on the other hand, there are some websites who are working better when accessed via application. That is not strange given the fact that many people access internet sites by their smartphones. And applications are easier to use, so there is that. I prefer using websites because I am an old school guy. But the apps are fine, too. I use them very often!

Depends which device I use. If I'm on my smartphone, having the app is better. If I'm on my computer though, I use my web browser and access the URL from there. The thing is I don't like the apps in Windows, and I believe it's not necessary so yeah.

I prefer using websites url because I use my laptop most of the time. I find it easier to navigate a website compare to apps. But of course, there are instances that I need to use apps especially when I'm on travel and I have only my phone with me.

I prefer the use of application. The loading time of using the application is way shorter than the URL. URL on the other hand requires longer loading time for the data to transmit to your device is larger unlike when in application, the data are compressed and simplified.

There are apps or applications that are user friendly especially if you are using smartphones. However, url are more efficient if you are using laptop or desktop. Well, it all depends on what kind of functions are you looking for. Most of the time I prefer applications because they are more easier to use than websites.

It depends, most apps have quirks and bugs, so I have to always update it, it's convenient but not really reliable. I like to access the main site because it's more dependable and has fewer glitches.

I prefer going on their website. An app is a good choice if you're out and with no computer around. It's convenient but apps also have some restrictions. It's always better for me to check sites on my laptop specially if I'm doing online shopping.

I prefer website because my mobile can't download every app out there. It's good to have app if you can do specific task like say company work or so. But I can't download app for every website out there. I'd only use app if I can see the value of it. Not like for every website out there if I start to download the app. That would seriously affect my phone. I prefer responsive website instead.

The worse part of it is when one some apps makes the phone begins to lagged it can be very frustrating and I don't waste time in uninstalling such app and letting the phone be. So I'm always scare of using more apps on my phone because of this. The URL most times seem preferable.

Yes. Many people think making app of every website is reasonable. I tend to ignore it. Because if every website starts to have website app and asks user to have notification. Then it can surely slow down the phone. And one more reason is that it can be seriously painful to navigate lot of such content.

I like applications better. It's usually easier to navigate an app compared to viewing a site within a browser. Browsers have limited functionality, while apps are already designed in such a way that users are able to easily access services.

I agree. I also prefer apps. For example I prefer using the Facebook, What-app,Instagram and Pinterest. I think it easier to access this way than typing in the url especially when you access websites on your mobile, it easier to just click on them and getting to your search engine and accessing your url.

When we are talking about social media apps, I think making use of them is better than the website itself. This is the reason I have some of the social media apps on my device. However, when it comes to serious business, I prefer making use of the website url.

I have always preferred to use a URL it more convenient and easy to navigate than the app version. With the URL you don't need to download or install anything just click on the URL and one is on the page of the site and most times one don't to register before accessing the site but with apps most needs one registering and having an ID.

You're right, and in theory, an app can also be harmful. Happened to me once that I tried to navigate to a website through an url and everything was fine. But as soon as I downloaded the app of it - my antivirus detected a virus trojan. Pretty odd.

Most times, I always prefer to make use of websites URL in the sense that it is easier to make use of. One thing that I don't like about applications is they always come with loads of updates that always make me to consume data as well which is not pretty cool by me.

It's not that I don't like using websites through an app, but I feel more comfortable using an url. Moreover, I don't feel too bad about myself by filling my phone up with all sorts of app for just one specific website. I try to maintain my storage space properly.

I've always liked applications. Websites do save storage space on my phone. However, I don't really like the webpage experience even on mobile. Some developers limit functionalities in webpages so they can push people to use their app which isn't really a big deal for me because I think apps were made to be better than or replace webpages.

I think it is much better to have the website URL because it is more easy to search and navigate based on my own experience. I feel much comfortable in doing it since I can access the site conveniently. Browsing on app sometimes takes time and having some issues which is something that I really don't like.

Between website URL's and application I would have to choose both. Most application doesn't contain functionalities which comes handy sometime. Take for example my PayPal app, I find it difficult to verify my cards during the verification process using it. On the other hand, it was easy using the website. I was able to look for the functions I want which is not readily available in application form. Another thing is that apps eat most of the storage spaces of my phone unlike website URL's.

Do you prefer using websites url or applications: It defends because some applications has a limited function compare if your open it in url and another advantage of using url is for saving additional space in your gadget, to avoid lagging experience in your systen specially if your using a cellphone.

Yes, that is also one factor to consider if you are low in storage space on your phone then it is better for you to use URLs, some apps like facebook take up large amounts of ROM and RAM on your phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I would prefer websites but if I am gonna be using that app daily then I would have no problem with using it instead of a website. The issue I have with apps is that most are not developed well, it would have bugs and it would crash unlike the website.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It depends on the site and the application. Some features are not available for sites so I would choose the application. However, there are instances where the application is under-developed that’s why the site is more preferable.

I prefer manually typing in the URL in my browser. I don't really like having too many apps on my phone, as they just end up taking a lot of space for nothing.
In today's world, every business seems to be lunching their own mobile app. While some might be quite useful and offer unique features, many don't give you anything more than the company's website, so I don't quite see the need to download them.

You have a great point. It actually annoys me when there are a lot of apps that consumes my memory. Thus, I only have 3 apps installed in my phone to avoid the inconvenience.

It really depends on what type of site I'm accessing. If it's a financial site like banks or payment processors or any kind of site that involves money, I access the URL but if it's not associated with money then I'll just use its app.

I think sometimes I am using some apps whenever I am using a mobile phone since it is more easy and convenient to use an app if we are using a mobile phone. It saves as from time and data if we are using some apps to our mobile phone but honestly I rarely do it for now because I am more capable of using my laptop.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It depends, actually. Sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are the ones that I need to have an app. But, when apps are very slow to load, I prefer going to the site

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

When you say app that means you are using the mobile browser which I think is more practical because there are sites that I couldn’t access properly when I go directly to the web address using a mobile browser. When that happens I would shift to the app so that the website will be responsive. But when using a computer, of course, the only choice is going to the link of the website.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TeejObsena
Both, but depends which is more convenient. Not all applications are as complete as what the website url provide. And there are also those that provide the same information and features which makes you use the application, which is better and convenient. I personally think that the ones who can provide you more information and features will be better to use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think it is better to use the application on any website that you want. When using the application all the tools that you will need is ready and much easier to use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It depends. If I am to use an app it will be for shopping because it is more convenient. I use url more for the sites that I still have to try. I will research and read reviews first before installing their app if they have one. But url is still good because if you want to access a site one time only you can save a lot from your memory storage.

It really depends on how often I need or use a service. If I have to use a service more than once every day, I tend to download the application. If I only have to use it on occasion, then I preserve hard drive space on my device. There are those few applications that I just love to use the URL only, but those are rare.
