Do you read at least one book per week?

There is this whatsapp group that I joined whose aim is to read one book per week while the admin gives a comprehensive analysis at the end of the week.

This has made me to enjoy my time reading some nice books like art of seduction and rich dad poor dad. Do you read one book per week?

I love reading and I enjoyed it so much. For a Bible Study teacher like me, I need to read the Bible and other reference books to deepen my knowledge and have a better understanding about the subject. I need to study to be able to teach them quality lessons. Besides, we cannot give something that we don't have in the first place.

The bible is a great book to read and study. Every verse needs a certain revelation.

They shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.

I love this verse and it is not as simple as it looks. Actually Jesus is the way, the truth and life. It is also written And eternal life is this; they know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you sent.

I always agree with that saying. We really cannot give what we don't have. Even if you try without preparing yourself for the lesson, the students or the listeners will always notice if you know something or just pretending.

I used to read the Bible when I was in high school because it was part of our studies. We had a religion subject and our teacher would give us a daily homework to read a part of the Bible that will be discussed in class on the next day. But when I had finished high school I read the Bible occasionally only although I still remember the parts that I had read before that the lesson remained on my mind.

I only read one book every month although I have become quite laxative in the last few months. I had an aim of reading a book atleast every week but then I picked books that were too deep and needed one to take some time. I might be fast but at times it is always better to understand the content.

Deep books are the best. They need your full concentration. When I read such, I frequently go back to verify a point before moving on. Being an avid reader is not a bad thing.

I do read a book but not consistently. I sometimes finish reading a book that I like for about 2-3 days. Most of the time I just randomly pick an article or any content on the internet. I have also read that great book by Robert Kiyosaki.

Robert talks about his rich dad and poor dad which is his biological father, the mindset of the rich and the poor towards money, why most people are broke and how to become rich. He also talks about the rate race when most people trapped, especially employees, doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same result over and over again. The entirety of the book is about becoming an entrepreneur to escape from being a slave in a 9 - 5 job. There are many successful businessmen today that was inspired by the Rich Dad, Poor Dad book. The book contains ideas and principles that may be against from what most people have been taught from the family and school.

It is available on amazon. Or maybe it is available in your local books store. It's a really great book to read because it is written by the best selling author, Robet Kiyosaki. There's also an audiobook format for that book.

You can make it a point of duty to start this on your own. What you need to do is to search for recommended books on some niches that you have interest on and start making use of that to read a whole lot of books.

The Art of Seduction is a book everyone should read. It provides so much insight into human relationships, behaviors, and how to recognize if someone is trying to manipulate you. Personally, I do try to read a book per week. Not as a chore, but as a way to enrich my knowledge.

Oh, don't worry. Read it whenever you have the time. It's important to read books while concentrated, as you absorb better all the information. No use of rushedly reading a book and not remembering anything later.

Well, I love to read books and I usually do read books whenever I get free time. However, reading one book per week seems to be a little difficult right now due to my work. Although I would love to read at least one book per week in the near future. The idea of joining a book reading club on WhatsApp is very interesting and can be very motivating for reading books regularly.

I think that he meant that they have formed a group with some reading buddies and agreed maybe to discuss every night or at a certain time of the day after each one has read their books to expound more.

Same issue I have.. not enough time to read books. I mean I could read books till the cows come home (it is a saying some americans say in the south) but reading that book is not going to be paying for my bills. Freelancing and my online work pays for my bills so I rather do that then be homeless from reading books.. as odd as it sounds it's true for me at this point.

I don't, but I wish I did! I think most of the time it's just hard carving out the time to read a book for that long each week. Between my family responsibilities and my work responsibilities, time for other activities can be somewhat limited. I do need to try and be more diligent though with making time to read, even if it's not quite at the level of one a week.

Yes, that's it - and sadly reading books doesn't pay the bills or the rent! I do need to try and read a little more though, even if it's a chapter or two of a book each night before bed, instead of scrolling mindlessly on my phone.

Haha - I agree! There are so many hobbies I have that I wish I was able to monetize - reading, cycling, hiking, all those kinds of things. I guess at least I've been able to do that with writing, to a certain extent!

There was a time I hardly had much time for reading but since I like books a lot I figured that I could still manage to read a book if it was short. That's why I read a lot of children's books nowadays. Many of their books can be read in under two hours. So I actually do read more than one book a week (but not always).

You could try that too. Find shorter books and read them.

Two a month is still pretty impressive! I feel like I get through maybe one a month, and that's on a good month. Other times I can't even manage to get through one a month.

When I was still in high school, I used to read 1 book a day when its summer. I even read 2 books sometimes, reading has been my hobby since I was young so if I have time I always read. As for now, I have read 100+ books this year and I am really proud of that.

Since you already have some experience reviewing books, you could start a blog and post reviews of books you've read. Hopefully if there are many people who read these reviews, a few people could buy some of the books that you recommend. That should earn you a bit of money. Considering you'd be doing what you love, the time you spend reading books isn't wasted.

When I was working they send me ebooks so it was reat not physically book, my physical books are not really that many, I think they are in rage of 130-160 books, I keep it in a box because I don't have a shelf but I never thought of selling it well donating it comes in my mind before.

As long as you are still a student who is either in the university or college, you are definitely going to be reading more than one book in a week if you really want to pass your exams with good and high grades.

It's very hard to read only during exams period and understand well enough what you are supposed to know in all the subjects that you have to pass. So, reading everyday will most likely keep well prepared for all your exams.

Sometimes I am doing some multi tasking if I want to achieve or finished something for the day. Reading a book is one thing that I want to do but needs some patience before I can have it because I prioritized first those things that are more important and if I am already free then that is the only time that I can now read some books.

Actually, there was a time when it took me over 4 months and I didn't read one book, not even an ebook which I used to be disposed to reading often.

Some commitments are very capable of throwing someone's focus off balance from doing the same thing he or she used to do. It has happened to me and I know exactly how it feels.

It can definitely be hard to find the time to fulfil all your hobbies - sometimes other things do get prioritized over reading. I’m trying to set a goal to just read a few pages a night instead of checking social media before bed. Setting small goals make them seem much more manageable.

Yes, this is true. You can't manage to fulfill all your hobbies and you are right that sometimes there are things that you priorities first than reading. It's good to have a book to read as this good for the brain, it enhances your vocabulary and expand knowledge.

Being a literature teacher on part time basis has make a constant pattern for me to read almost every single day when I have class to attend. It's not possible to attend class and not be well prepared to face my students. So, I eventually have to read more often than I'm supposed to read under a normal circumstance.

I do not read books I will admit however I am on the computer at least 12 hours a day, and I can assure you that the amount of content I read probably equals a couple books. I am basically a PHP programmer and I taught myself how to code via trial and error, and by following online PHP tutorials.

I am constantly reading up on how to do things I am not familiar with in terms of code. So by saying this, you could assume that I do read quite a bit especially with my online endeavors.

Now for plain ol' books, no. The last book I read was an eyewitness account of a mass UFO sighting in Africa by school children - lol. Yeah my taste in reading materials is out there but I have to be co mpletely submersed in the topic I am reading about otherwise I will get bored fairly quickly.

That's something I didn't take into account. I read tons online, whether it's news articles or bits and pieces for research when I'm writing articles - so if I added all of that up, I'm sure it would be the equivalent of a paper-based book every week too!

I think it's still considered as reading and as you mentioned above, the amount of content you read is equal to books and I think there's no problem with that. It doesn't mean that if you are not reading a book, you don't read. As long as you are learning or understand it then that still a good thing.

Nowadays, I only read books when I feel like I want to. Due to my busy schedule, I can't insert reading the novels that I want to read. I actually envy those who still can manage to finish even 20 pages in a day.

Yup, I often see new release books and I think "oh - I'd love to read that!"...and then I remember all the books on both my shelves and my kindle that I still haven't worked my way through! I have to try and hold off on buying new books until I actually get around to reading the rest of them!

I am not reading much but I should be based on what I have seen so far. More I read and learn from the books, easier for me to work around on things. I think book reading per month can be a good start. And people can learn a lot from their experience of reading. Some of the time it can be funny if you ask me. Joining a group or a book club is a great idea if you have the time. I can not commit to even reading one book a week unless it's a short book (200 – 250 pages). I think GoodReads is a good site to go to for book suggestions.

I always envy people who can still make it to group/club discussions during their free time. I actually want to be in a book club that is made of members from society, but sadly, that's not a common thing in our place, better be reading your book alone.

Agree the liberarything and goodreads seems to have a good suggestions for the book. And they seem to be accepting a lot of options for the recommendation based on our liking. I think on that note people should be checking those algorithmic suggestion. And also ask for peoples suggestion in the forums of their choice.

I've read 7 books in the past two months, that's about 1 book for each week. I am a lover of book, and that is why I court them. But most of the times, my aim is really not to read a particular amount of book within a given time; what decided how much I read is mostly the kind of book I'm reading. I can finish a book within a week and start off another before that week runs out, and also, I can read a book for more than a week. It took me up to a month, even more, to get through with the 48 Laws of Power, and about 3 weeks to read Stephen Coveh's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I read John Grisham's The Partner with a week.

Both three books are appealing. But it took me long to get through with the first two because I did not just want to read them, I wanted to internalize them too. I took notes, and searched other sources for more insight into what they teach; and when i feel I grabbed something deep, I paused, reflected —sometimes for a whole day— before getting back.

For John Grisham's book, it was engaging, I was lost in the story that I could not wait to see what will happen next.

I really liked what you said that reading to you isn’t simply about getting through the words on the pages, but really taking in what the content of the book is all about. I think that’s a very important thing to remember - actually absorbing what you read and learning from it.

That is somehow true, and yes of course it depends on our own preferences. But there are still missing scenes or information that aren't shown in its movies or live action version. Sometimes, they even replace all the scenes but the story is still there. Comparing the movie/live action to its book is quite interesting for me. It is like mystery and mind-blowing.

As a working student, I don't have time to read a book per week. But I had read a book within just 7days, I just can't help it and want to know the ending right away. With a busy sched of mine, I still want to read book but I just can't find time for it. Actually, I have a pending book to read and I'm planning to read it when our sembreak comes.

That's the prime time when I get reading in too - any time I have a vacation I always get the urge to read. Plus, having less demands on my time means that it's just easier to get time to read. I always tend to buy a new book before a vacation for that very reason.

It is my goal to finish at least one book per week. Unfortunately, I have not finished a book for a week. Sometimes, it will take me a month to finish because I spend intentional reading daily for an hour only. However, I see to it that I read a portion of the Bible everyday.

Unfortunately, no. It's actually a pain for me to even finish reading a book in one month. I also hate to read because I get easily sleepy but I love to write stories and I have published some of them on free publishing sites. Also, I have a very busy schedule with my studies and freelance work and so it's really hard to manage my time and insert book reading in between since I guess it would be better to just sleep and rest than over work.

Reading sometimes makes me sleepy too, so I'm trying to be more diligent with reading right before I go to bed. It's better for me than reading my smartphone, and then if I do get tired it's not a big deal - in actual fact it's a good thing!

Oh, that's a great idea Ma'am amelia88. Thanks for mentioning that. I am definitely a lazy person who does get sleepy when reading but doesn't when watching a video on YouTube. Guess I have to purchase a book tomorrow so that I can read one before bed. Thanks Ma'am.

I read more books before but today I'm more interested with articles and blogs. I read e-books sometimes. There are plenty of good books on goodreads(dot)com. I used to read e-books there before and their books are all worth it to read. I only read books for pleasure reading and for improving my poor vocabulary.

Perhaps, it's not just books alone that I'm open to reading on daily basis because there are so many things that are readable.

Being the sports enthusiast that I am, there is no way of getting to pass a day without reading so many articles on all sports field that I have interest in.

I think if I added up all of the sources I read then I'd definitely do the equivalent of a book a week. I read lots of news articles online and even in a day I probably get through enough material online that it's close to a book. I wish there was some way to track the volume of online content we read! It'd be interesting to get an idea of how much it is.

If Wattpad is is counted then yes I'm reading every week. Aside from it I also read Game thrones which until now I haven't finished reading all of it yet. I only read 30-80 pages I guess because my eyes tends to hurt if I forced my self reading the book for long. I actually enjoy reading books and it's like a hobby to me already that when ever I have a free time I really can't stop holding books and flipping and reading it.

Not anymore.

Before I used to read and finish one book a day even with 56 chapters. Because of that I spend all of my time reading and my mother always get angry because I dont have time to help her with the house chores anymore.

Right now I still read but I choose to read the ongoing or unfinish ones because I can limit the time I spent in reading and I can study better now.

Reading is my hobby and a form of relaxation for me. When I read books I get carried away and just ended up relaxing. I usually read a lot of books during the week. Usually romantic comedies and historical books. Reading is a very important part of my life and I cannot possibly go on without it.

I haven't read any books lately because I have some work to do. But, I often read news online since I am online on daily basis. I like to read to be updated on what's happening on my country. Sometimes, I like intriguing issues of politicians. This usually got my interest and curiosity. It's nice to know what they reaction or how does it affect our country as a whole. I think I received an invitation from a friend in Facebook about a group for book readers. The objective is to make the book alive again in our lives because technology has been getting a big part of our time. But I had to be honest that I am not presently interested in books. In fact, I still have some books I bought years ago that remain unread until this time because I have no more time to spare for reading.

I am glad to share that I had read some of my favorite books this week since I manage to take care of my precious time which is really good to have despite having some offline work. I just realize that we can do a lot of things if we will just plan and manage well our time. It maybe tough at the beginning but if we are already used to it then it would slowly help us to earn more and do things that we really enjoy to do.

At the moment I don’t. However I read many articles in International newspapers like the New York Times, the Financial times and the Washington Post.So I don’t read a book a week or even a book a month but I still think that I am getting my reading done. At the moment I am trying to get organized so that I can read one to two books a week. The only way to do this is to set specific days or times dedicated to only reading. I plan to do this. I find reading everyday for an hour or two does not help. It is easy to miss a session.

Before I used to read 1 book per 1-2 days but now I stopped already because I get too addicted and I have to focus on my studies. I'll just do it when it's vacation or sem break.
I still read but just one chapter per week because the book that I'm reading is ongoing and the author does not update much. I think Jonaxx is pretty busy.

I take my time to read books. There are such a lot of exceptional books left to be read. There are books written to offer expertise, suggestion, expertise, and laughter. There may be a wealth of existence hidden interior of them. All we need to do is make the effort to choose them up and read it.

To answer your current, I do try to maintain my reading, simply because it's important. But sadly, I lately rarely have time for it (due to job and family). I'd say it's more like one book per two months or so. I can tell you, however, that I did notice that without reading books I feel a lot more emptier.

As much as I would love to do this with the ridiculous amount of eBooks and Mangas I have saved in my tab, I just can't even though I tried. I have a busy morning schedule and on top of that I 3 kids I need to manage, and also a wide variety of interests which includes Korean dramas, Anime, and BuJo, It would be great though if I could read the whole day again like how I used to back when I was young.

I did this practice a few years ago however ever since I started with Senior High School, my schedule was always hectic and I found less time for book-reading. I miss reading 1 book every week. It was a great experience. It was like going on a different adventure every week. Hopefully, when summer comes I will be able to get back to the habit of reading one book every week.

Yes, it happens that even 2 books can be read. I study at the Faculty of English Philology and this is the minimum that I have to learn every week, and also write an essay about it. There is almost no time left for writing a review, I turn to essayontime/. I think that the process of reading and assimilating the philosophy of the work is important, and everything else can be solved with the help of homework online.
