Writing content isn't enough, you also need to promote it!

Everyone talks about how Content is King, and that's definitely true, but if you're not promoting your content then you're just leaving money on the table at the end of the day, week, or year.  How many times on Facebook have you seen a company advertising an article or blog post they just published, and they aren't sending you to a sales page?  It happens pretty often, and it's because successful people know you shouldn't always be pitching to your potential customers.  Instead, they publish great content that gets their potential customers to start thinking, then they will decide if they want to make a purchase.

If you're not promoting your content, and your competitors are, you'll constantly be losing the marketing battle and they will always be better than you.  Do you know how to compete with them?  Well, you're reading this discussion so you probably know you need to promote your content!  Below are a few ways you can go ahead and promote your best posts Writing content isn

Use your email campaigns to shed light on your blog posts
After you know which blog posts are getting more attention, you'll know which ones are the winners, and these are the ones that should be promoted within your newsletters.  If you don't have a newsletter set up, you're losing to your competitors already, so get over to MailChimp and set up a $10 account to get started sending out newsletters to your subscribers you'll soon obtain!

When you send out these newsletters, you don't want to just copy and paste the entire article into the email, you want to add the title and a little snippet of the article to entice them to click through.  If you do this, you can add 4 or 5 titles along with snippets, and that will increase your click-through rates which will increase your traffic as well as your sales Writing content isn

Participate in forums and use your signature
When you're on niche related forums, you can usually share a link in a post if it's relevant to what the person is talking about in the original post.  If you're just spamming your links around the internet, you'll likely get banned that very day, so do this strategically.

One way to play it safe, but you'll likely get less of a response, is to use your signature to promote your best blog posts.  This will usually get you a backlink as well as some additional promotion for every post you make on that forum Writing content isn

Share your new content on social media
If you have a website, you likely have social media profiles on every major platform for it, so you might as well be using them!  All you have to do is post a link to your social media pages or profiles and write up a little description for each post.  You may not get 1,000 likes on each post or get a ton of traffic because of it, but that could change with a single post, and you never know when that post will be.

Use PPC to pull in visitors
You can go on Facebook or Adwords and easily set up a PPC campaign for your sales pages, as well as your blog posts, but not many people are pushing traffic to their content pages where they don't make direct sales.  Why are they doing this?  because everyone wants to make money right away and they don't invest in their company the right way, they just send traffic to the pages that make them money and they don't nurture a lead.

Set up a PPC campaign on Facebook and get super targeted, you'll see a decent amount of people subscribing to your newsletters or coming back time and time again to read what you're new blog posts are all about.  Set up an Adwords campaign and you will see people coming in, doing the same as the people from your Facebook ads, and you'll be winning the content game Writing content isn

In conclusion
If you aren't getting 20,000+ unique visitors a day right now, you need to promote your content whenever possible.  You need to be sure that you're promoting the right content and not what you think is perfect.  Whatever is getting the best rankings in Google, what content is getting the most comments, what content is getting the most attention, and if you can figure that out then you know what needs to be promoted Writing content isn

Helpful tips as always! I've written content for a few websites, and the ones that get the most traction are absolutely the ones who promote them more. Whether it's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or an email newsletter with article links, they all seem to help dramatically in boosting article engagement.

Participating in forum posting and making use of your website signature is one way to advertise your own website and get more people to check out your site and possibly know more about your own written contents, in order to add their own opinions as comments to it. Also sharing your contents on social media sites is one effective way to getting more people to know about it.

Yeah i agree and i have experienced how social media works in terms of advertising and promotion. I wrote a simple DIY content on my Facebook page months ago and until now it seems to gather more followers even i haven't posted any content at the moment.

Yup Writing content isn

Content that is advertised tends to have the best engagement among popular blogs. You'll get more eyes on your content, increasing the chances of obtaining some comments, and it will likely get shared more due to your targeting being on point. The more shares you get for your content, the more likely those new people will comment/like/share it as well Writing content isn

It's a snowball effect in a positive way, and it will only get better for you as time goes on and your advertising campaign grows Writing content isn

Social media is the venue that is fertile for the promotion. The biggest advantage of marketing in social media is that it is free if you are the one doing the marketing. You can also avail of the advertising scheme like Facebook Ads which has some tricks in its sleeve that definitely will boost your backlink. The Ads in Facebook would appear like it was posted by your friend and there’s also the note that the Ad was “liked” by several of your friends. That is deceptively advantageous to your purpose.

Exactly. It's not just enough to write your contents and expect it to have a massive views and generate more traffic without boosting it using one way or another. The content boosting will help your content have a wider reach that would help it get more comments and replies from those that find the content useful. It's just like posting on your Facebook page without boosting it, the content won't have much reach.

Social media is always my best bet when it comes to promoting your business concerns. I like it because it is free and all you need is the effort and time to post your marketing spiel. However, you need to be creative because posting too often will give a semblance of spamming and some of your connections may block you. Try to make your promotional post relevant to the times.

Sharing contents on social media is definitely going to boost your popularity as readers will be looking to read some more articles from you and by sharing your links, you have that advantage of them checking on your site once in a while.

I agree with you 100 percent on this. It's not enough that you have written a good piece, you also need to market and advertise it. For me the best and easiest way of doing this is by concentrating on social media posts and shares.

That seems like a pretty big number! How many blogs are actually pulling that off? What's a rough guess? Anyway, I would assume any site with that many visitors would have an owner either making decent or over-the-top income!

If you can write and promote good content then by all means write and promote it. But most of the time site owners have time constraints in writing their own content, and some doesn't really have the knack for it. In these cases it's better to hire writers and or promoters to deal with this.

That's right, and I think much better to advertise your content to the forums related to your business compare to social media. The members of the forum sites surely has interest to know and learn the specific topic, unlike to the social media that looks like a general discussion in the topic.

Most annoying part about the saying content is king. You can't just write amazing content, you also need to continuously promote it. This is the hardest part of online marketing and where people quit and give up on everything altogether. How to get people to read your content is tricky, because most people have information overload and are bound to read content from sources they are used to.

You can have all the great content you want. But, you cannot succeed with a network like this that sells fake botty traffic. even the top sellers on this network are fake.

In the early days simply publishing contents would bring you traffic and sales. However, these days the market is so competitive that it has become very difficult to gain visitors through search engines. Social media is an obvious choice for many people. In order to bring visitors from social networks, you need to promote your content on a various social media platform. Social media promotion can be very tedious, to ease your work you can either hire social media manager or automate your task through social media posting service.

You don't mention using tools like Scoop.it, Paper.li or Flipboard. These are excellent tools that display your content in a different format. Your blog looks and reads like a magazine or a newspaper. Have you ever tried any of these tools for promotion purposes? I have used the free plan. Was wondering if anyone used the Upgrade or Paid package.

Assuming you already have social media connections who are in the same niche are you, odds are they from time to time share content that is similar to what you post on your site. You could persuade these people to help you promote your content.

First thing you should do is share their content. Once you do, send them a message and inform them that you've got content they could share with their target audience. Some will agree to share your link. And it will get you some traffic.

p.s Facebook groups are a good place to find people who could help you promote your content. But you have to add them as friends. Attempting to promote via Facebook groups directly may not be all that effective.

Yes because no matter what incredible your writing is, if no one sees it it's just won't make sense to earn a reputation. Writing in consistency is fundamental in becoming popular but in the same time if we partnered it into an advertisment it will bridge the gap for you to be known. You will make a ginat leap if you promote your writings in some ways. That's all.

Yes, that is so true, even though content will always be the king, if you don't have a good strategy or plan to promote your content then your good quality content will be of no use. if you are not able to market whatever you have written then you should train yourself in doing it, because marketing yourself has become a very essential thing in the twenty-first century. if you are able to come up with good quality content and are able to market it efficiently then you are sure to become very successful in a short span of time. doing these two things together, however, is not that easy. if however, one is able to manage it eventually he will be making a good earning through his site or blog.

I would say it depends on how you market your content.

Should you spend money for promotion there is a higher likelihood of being successful faster but most bloggers can't afford to spend the sort of money that would be needed for this. That's why they'll have to opt for everything else that doesn't cost them any money. With this other (free) promotion methods it might take a little while before you start seeing any results but it most certainly will build your blog's following. Though yeah, it takes a little while longer.

Hello there!
I agree with you 100%!
I used to write a lot of content, dedicate myself and improve the quality, but it wasn't sufficient as I was hardly noticed by anyone. It used to make me sad.
Now I understand that I had to change my policy, I spend 30% of time time on the content, and 70% on advertising it.
