When it comes to digital marketing, you need to do various techniques in order to bring in the most traffic possible, because that's what will make you as much money as you can in order to be successful. If you're not branching out to use other methods of traffic generation and branding then you're just not trying to make money because you're likely settling on a method that is working right now. What if I told you that you need various traffic streams in order to be successful and have fewer worries about the future? Think about it, if you have just one traffic stream, you're risking everything you've built, because if that stream dries up then you're screwed and have to start from scratch.
In this discussion, I'll be going over 5 digital marketing trends that everyone should be trying at least once to see how successful they can be with them, and those 5 trends are:
Use Visual Content
A lot of people think that visual content comes in the form of video, and that's all, but it also comes in the form of high-quality images that people gravitate towards. Not many people are trying to optimize for Google Images, even though we're always optimizing our pages, and that's why great images tend to get more attention.
Of course, you can go the video marketing route since it's a proven strategy to bring in customers, but even there you'll need to be unique and have something of high quality. So don't skimp on your images or videos and you'll see an uptick in sales
Use Interactive Content
There are actually a lot of websites out there doing interactive content right now and making a killing from it. Have you seen all of those quizzes and other polls on Facebook to figure out if you're a werewolf or vampire? Well, that's a prime example of interactive content and it works well to build up your list in order to market to later on.
You need to have the interactive content targeted to your service in order to have the best return for it. If you're running a car dealership, have a small game that people can play and you'll see more traffic landing on your website. If you have a blog talking about celebrities, have a small quiz to figure out what celebrity someone would be best friends with. The only limits of these little interactive content pieces is your imagination, so get to thinking and I'm sure something good will come out of it
Go Live With Video
Live video is rampant right now, and that's a good thing for you because you can use it to pull people into your website and possibly turn them into a customer. Business owners, influencers, and fortune 500 companies are "going live" in order to capture more attention to their products or services.
You can "go live" and talk about new features of your website or you can offer discount codes to anyone watching which can be used no your website for the next purchase. You can also do giveaways during a live video and people will flock to you when you're on
Use Expiring Content
SnapChat was the front runner on this type of content, and they have billions of users right now, so we know it works well. You can amass a following if you were to do expiring content and give away coupon codes to a general product that everyone uses or wants.
Facebook started getting into the expiring content game and you can now post something and set it to be deleted after just 24 hours. I don't use the expiring content much on Facebook though, I want people to see my posts for the next 100 years
Use Beacons to Push Ads
Now, this is one of the more unused ways to do marketing, and it's likely to start getting big when the hardware drops in price. A beacon is something you place around town, in a business, or basically anywhere you want to in order to send a sort of push notification to anyone in the area right to their phones. They will get notified that you have a 2 for 1 deal on t-shirts and the person might be less than 100 yards from your establishment and think "That's just around the corner, lets go check it out!" and it's a sale you likely wouldn't have gotten without that beacon working for you
Beacons aren't super cheap right now, and they're not commonly used, so most businesses don't use them. The businesses that are using them are seeing an uptick in sales due to people walking past and getting a little push notification letting them know you're there
In conclusion
If you can focus on the points I mentioned above, you'll start making more sales through recurring customers as well as new ones, so you should be testing them out at least once to see what happens. I personally like the beacon idea for bars and restaurants that have a decent amount of foot traffic, so if you have a physical store selling products, you should try this out and let me know how it goes

If you have a physical business it will be a wonderful way to let the local people know about you! Imagine having a pizza business and sending out a lunch time special just before lunch time to everyone in the area - sounds like a winner to me! I had no idea about using Beacons for Push Notifications, that is amazing! I use push notifications for my website but people have to subscribe. I am finding that the click through rate for push notifications is amazing. If you have a physical business it will be a wonderful way to let the local people know about you!
