How do I stop ads pop up

Please I need immediate assistance on how to stop ads pop up when using social media applications on my mobile device. Over the past two weeks, I started experiencing continuous ad pop when using my Facebook and Whatsapp.

The most annoying part is that when I accidentally touch the ad, it will automatically download the application the ad was about. I have tried everything I know on how to stop this but all to no avail. I have attached below a screenshot of how the ad keeps displaying when I'm using Whatsapp.

Well, as far as I know, the main cause for those kind of ads are malwares. So, maybe you downloaded an app, that brought the malware to your phone, so the way to fix it would be by deleting that app. You can try to scan your phone with some antivirus, clean all the junk files, caches, cookies, and browsing history too. There's people using some cleaner apps, like CCleaner, but honestly, I don't have experience with it.

Well, like I said earlier, this wasn't happening before and I didn't download any new application on my phone because I wouldn't fancy putting too much stress on the phone RAM. I have only the basic applications on my phone. So, I really don't know the new application that would be causing this problem because I didn't install any new one. I think it started when I updated all the applications in my phone.

It's true that malwares are the cause for this type of ads. It could come from any type of downloads, not just applications. However, if you haven't downloaded any files, you may have been redirected to some websites that automatically downloads a file. I think you should consider to delete residual and junk files. Also, try to check the applications installed on your phone on the settings.

That is the most annoying thing that I'm encountering right now to. I think clicking some links or going into untrusted sites are one of those reasons that bringing ads to our device.

Seriously, I can't begin to quantify how annoying and frustrating it gets when such happens. Sometimes I get lucky not to click on the ad pop up once it shows but most times as a result of being in a haste to type, I always click on the silly pop up on daily basis and end up downloading the application. Sometimes, I have opt not to uninstall the application so that it won't pop up again but it still end up bringing up different other ads.

That is so true. Ads are irritating especially when you were in the middle of the video that you were watching. It pissed off sometimes but what do we do.It is all about business. Adds like that are necessary to get the vlogger get paid.

I agree very much that ads are the way most people monetize their online business but when the pop up becomes too much, it gets on my nerves. How can one particular ad pop up more than 100 times in a day? Isn't it crazy?

Alright. Thanks for that information. You said it can be any Ad blocker application right? I hope this works for me because I must confess that it's quite annoying having to download numerous applications that I have no use for simply because I can't help myself accidentally touching the pop up notifications once it crazily pop up unannounced.

I never encountered this thing. It is kinda strange, it keeps on popping up on your facebook and whatsapp? That is strange, for me yes it is really strange. Mostly, ads are only popping up whenever I open a new app that I installed, but never on my facebook and whatsapp. I wonder what it is and why.

Seriously, it's very strange and annoying because I can't really find out the reason all this started recently. Just like you are seeing the picture that I uploaded in that article, it's my whatsapp page and that's exactly how the pop up displays. I have unknowingly download that ad pop more than 5x.

Its about your download matter. When you are downloading the app from Google store than you must need to select the ad free app for your self. IT will be better if you remove all of the apps and can download it again without ad free option. All ads will come with the software you are using on your android device.

Thanks

You are very correct with this statement my friend. I have noticed some applications in Google play store that comes with the Ad tag, and I try as much as possible to stay away from downloading such applications. Most times, it's the free application that comes with these ads and the only way to stay away from constant bugging of ads is to get premium versions of the application that you need.

Delete your Facebook app, download and install it again. Whatever is causing it, it's an app so it's best to delete your most recent apps and clear your cache, delete your cleaner also, most cleaners contain viruses.

Deleting my Facebook or whatsapp? Are you kidding me seriously? I don't think that it has anything to do with my Facebook application or even the Whatsapp, because these applications have been in my phone long ago and I have never had this issue of ad pop until recently. I have checked all the notification settings of both the Facebook and whatsapp, still find nothing wrong with them.

I think this is one of the ways big companies like Google are making their money as you can see that most of those ads are not intentional but inserted into the website system by the owners of those sites since the people that owns the app pay the money to do so. So getting an app That can be able to stop those apps from appearing on your websites and apps that use is one of the best ways to go about it and I think one of them is called ad blocker which you can get on google play store.

It's too much in my opinion because I keep getting these pop ups when I seriously don't want them. I have done everything I can to stop the pop up but all to no avail.

I have looked for ad blocker applications on Google Play store but couldn't get any that can't help me stop this. There is no day that passes where I don't download these useless pop up ad without knowing.

Seriously, it's very annoying as well as frustrating my dear. It makes me feel like breaking my device sometimes but out of endurance, I still manage to keep my cool. Now, I'm no longer in a hurry to click because there is no way of knowing when the silly ads will pop up and end up getting me to download what I don't need for any reason whatsoever.

This can usually happen if you have downloaded a legitimate app and there are some unwanted apps that are bundled that you might have downloaded as well. I would suggest to check your installed apps and see if there are applications that you don't know and uninstall it. You can also try resetting your browser and delete the history. Try do download an Antivirus or Malware removal app. What I only know is Norton Mobile Security. You can try in for 30 days in Android devices. If you think you already tried all of the steps, the best option would be resetting your phone to its default settings then make to to keep eye on any bundled applications when trying to download any legitimate applications.

I always take care with the kind of application that I download especially the free application because they are the kind of application that comes with the ads. I only have few free applications on my phone which wasn't popping up ads like this before. Seriously, I have grown tired of this problem.

Well, I am currently using an ad block plus, it is an extension on my Chrome Browser, It its really good especially when you are using youtube to play music, The video will play without skipping any ads, And it also blocks ads on some other websites. So for me, that is the best ad block.

Ad block plus? I haven't tried that one yet and since it's an extension of Chrome Browser, I believe it's most likely going to work well in preventing the ads from popping up too often, if it doesn't stop it completely. Thanks for the update, I'm definitely going to look into this and see if it helps me.

As much as pop ads are annoying, I let them be. These ads are used to generate revenue for the site. When they become too much, I click the x at the corner and they disappear.

How I wish it's that simple with what I'm experiencing as regards to the kind of pop up I'm getting. It comes up so sudden that once I get click anywhere on the ad pop, the application will download automatically. Just like I'm typing this post, should the pop up come in now and I click anywhere on it, it will download.

If your using a free app then expect that there will be an ads because that is their main source of revenue in order to make the app keep going. Ughmm, I can recommend you an ads blocker app in google playstpre but it won't work at some time. That's why bear with it because it is essential. If you don't like ads then unlock the full version of the app and if its an app for commercial use you have nothing to do with it.

Seriously, this wasn't like that at first because everything was just normal and even if I did get ad pop up back then, it's not as it is at this very moment. I can't even recall the application that will be causing this problem because I haven't downloaded any free version of any applications recently.

The solution to disturbing ads pop-ups is to block them. This can easily be done on your mobile device.

Temporary disabling is on clicking the X at the corner of the ad. You will be asked why you want it gone. It may be annoying or any other.

I guess we all do experience this problem almost on a daily basis when we do our work online. The most irritating part about such ads is that they will pop up usually when we are doing some very important work. reporting such adds has not proved useful at all. I think such ads are very common when we download apps which offer free services. the best strategy would be to get used to them and be patient and find ways and methods to work around them.

This was also happening to me. It was annoying because whenever I clicked the x button on the ad from a gambling site would download automatically.

I decided to clean up all apps that I had installed recently and those that I was not using. I also updated my apps and the problem was solved.

Scan your entire hard disk for the presence of malware because usually it is a type of malware that invokes the pop up ads. I have experienced that when I checked on a porn site that had probably attached the malware. One friend advised me to install the ad blocker of the the browser that I am using. And I did that.

Keep in mind that there are paying advertisers who want you to see these ads. "Farming" and "passive" are key words these advertisers don't want to see since they are paying for users to see their ads. Blocking/stopping these ads from appearing is another step away from their end goal of delivering the video for viewing.
