One thing holding us back from success is the excuses we give to ourselves after something doesn't go right with our business or website. We tell ourselves that Google changed its algorithm and messed up our rankings or we didn't make as much money as we could of because the market changed. You're not as successful as possible because of yourself, no one else, you are either holding yourself back or you're the one who is credible for your success and profits.
Excuses come from all over the place, and you should never be telling them to yourself as to why you didn't finish something. If you're a freelancer, working for yourself, or even working for a business that pays you hourly then you should be doing your best and not be procrastinating in order to get the job done. Don't set yourself up for excuses, and you will see yourself gaining more clients, as well as boosting your overall profits through more people signing up or even getting a promotion at work.
You're the only one holding you back
If you're not making money right now, it's not because of someone else, it's because you have lead yourself down the wrong path and you've wasted your time on a method or system that was supposed to work for everyone. You need to do your own research, implement your own methods, and boost your own popularity online through social media marketing as well as SEO.
You can always hire someone to do tasks for you such as SMM, SEM, and SEO but you need to stop giving yourself excuses in order to be more successful. If you are outsourcing work, don't accept excuses unless they're justified, because that's not how a company doing work for you should respond. I recently had a child and sometimes can't work because he takes up a lot of time during the day, and I'll tell my clients this, but I will always give them something extra when submitting work as a way or saying sorry for the late work. If your excuses are justified, always give back and boost your credibility, and your clients will stick with you.
Excuses are like A$$holes, everyone has them
Everyone has an excuse for something that didn't go their way. I actually try to surround myself with people that say "It just didn't work out because I screwed up" and I seem to have a great pool of talent at my disposal whenever I need a favor
Think about a video game, if you were to get eliminated from a match because you weren't as good as them, you might say it was lag or they were glitching the system. In reality, you just weren't as good as them and they won, but you can't come to the reality that you aren't the best at something so you simply lie to yourself and anyone in the lobby.
Stop giving yourself excuses just like everyone else and be more profitable at the end of the day.
Accept defeat, learn from it, tweak your approach
If you can't accept the fact that you've been defeated online in a niche you were so dedicated to, you likely won't last long when it comes to internet marketing, and that's because it's extremely competitive out here. You need to learn from your defeats, not give yourself excuses, and then tweak your approach in order to win the next time you jump into a niche that you're not totally familiar with.
Removing excuses will increase productivity
If you can tell yourself "I screwed this up" instead of saying "It didn't work because..." then you're going to be stuck in a rut and that's never easy to get out of. Analyze why something failed, tell yourself you can fix it, and get to work instead of telling yourself it can't be done.
In conclusion
If you can stop giving yourselves excuses, you will always be more successful online because you won't have downtime to sulk after a defeat. Think about it, how often do you think successful people worry about a loss and tell themselves "It failed because..." because they don't. Successful people will always say "Ok, how can we fix this and prevent it from happening again?". If you can think like that, you'll see your profits going up from month to month and you'll be a happier person in the long run
