Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
We all come across pages that are written in a way that makes us want to open our checkbooks and make a purchase, but we need to step back and realize those pages are done in a way to actually increase conversions, and we just fell into their traps lol. They're not trying to trick you into purchasing unless they have a bad product and just want your money, but the majority of businesses truly try to have the best thing out there and they will hire copywriters to spin up some words that highlight the absolute best aspects and features of the products or services.
This is a sort of art form and you can do it yourself, but I urge you to study it and test everything before you start to push your newly learned skills towards your visitors. You can do this extremely well over time, but it can blow up in your face if you don't think about what you're doing, so be sure to follow the points below to get a better idea of what I'm talking about when I say you can use psychology to boost your sales.
Make your premium features and shipping look free
This means you will need to increase your actual prices to include shipping costs, but your shopping carts or checkout pages will say free shipping. There are actually a lot of companies that are doing this, they're saying "FREE Shipping" all of their website as well as within their shopping carts, and you're not actually getting free shipping because you're paying for it within the price of the item.
Use a price that ends in .99, .97, or .95
This is a common trick to use, but the .99 is starting to become the .00 in terms of ending prices. People will gravitate towards a product they can save money with and still get what they need. If company A were to price their product at $19.99 and company B priced theirs at $19.95 then company B would get more sales. Even though they're priced just $0.02 less than company A, company B will make more sales simply by playing on the psychology of people wanting to save as much money as possible. Now, you'll still need to have a great product to keep the sales coming in, but that's pretty obvious.
Have product or service upgrades available
When you're selling someone online or offline, you'll need some sort of upgrades available for the customer so they can throw those into the shopping cart as well as the main product. Think of those ugly shoes called Crocs, they have little button things that can be pushed into the holes on the shoes, which are a sort of "upgrade" even though those shoes are horrible lol.
As for service upgrades, you can have bonuses set up for people who subscribe at a higher level, which will boost your signups. You will also need it to seamlessly work when people want to upgrade, they will just have to click "Upgrade" then choose a new payment plan, and then they will be charged a different amount when the time comes, or they will pay the difference and use all the premium features of the service you're offering.
Use urgency to boost sales
This is an old trick just like the .99 sale method, and what you'll be doing is creating a timeframe for when your product is available for purchase at a discounted rate, or you can even bring back a product for a special offer but it only lasts for 24 hours or a week, it's up to you.
You can have a countdown timer on your website, but you'll want to make it genuine and not bring back the product or service for a few months after the counter hits Zero. You can't have a timer running down and go back to 2 weeks as soon as it hits Zero. People will watch your urgency countdown and see what actually happens when you hit Zero, then they'll take you seriously when you don't offer your product or service past the available timeframe.
Answer questions before they're asked
When someone is contacting you, they'll always be asking a question and likely have follow-ups, but you'll be answering those follow-ups based on what they're currently asking. If someone were to ask me what SEO is, I'd talk about on page optimization and off page optimization as well as what backlinks are, what DA is, and what TF is. I'm now answering various questions that might pop up, and I'm decreasing the time it takes for them to make a purchasing decision.
Sure, you'll lose some sales because people won't like your answers, but that's business. I actually had a person not sign up with one of my SEO services because they asked "How long will your links stay active?" and I answered honestly with "They could last 1 day or 100 years, it's up to the website owner and what they do with their content". If I were to say "They'll stay active forever!" and a link was to get deleted, that person would likely complain later on and ask for a refund, which they wouldn't be getting, and that means I would likely get a negative review somewhere
Show your credibility
You need to post any awards you've gotten, and link to and 3rd party websites that verify you've been awarded, and people will begin to sign up solely from that little tactic. If you can get multiple awards, then link to them, you'll boost your credibility 10 fold and people will always come back
Show your customers they're valued
Always respond to your customers and thank them for contacting you. If they've purchased from you and you have an automated email system in place, never have it say "Thanks for the order!" because that's impersonal. You need to actually thank them by inputting their name and having a paragraph of why you're grateful they ordered from you. Now, if you're selling a $1 service, you can likely get away with the "Thanks for the order!" and be just fine lol.
Always follow up with customers!
If you're sending out products and not following up with the customers, you're losing a recurring sale, and that's not how you build a massive corporation. Send out a basic email to all of your buyers, that doesn't look like a mass email to all of your customers, and ask them how they liked their product or service. You'd be amazed how many people will respond and give you credible feedback. You can build a great following this way as well as get feedback that allows you to make a better product or service
Become a storyteller
If you want to make a lot of money, you need to become a storyteller when it comes to content, and people will start to gravitate towards you with every post you make. The benefits of long-form content are many, and that means you will benefit more than boosting your sales from dedicated followers, the search engines will begin to send you targeted traffic because you're now ranked higher in the SERPs
Use the power of middle advertising
When you have a comparison chart, and you're only showing 2 of your products or services, the likelihood of the person buying the more expensive one is few and far between. Instead, show 3 products or services of your own and the person will more than likely sign up for the middle one, making you more money and boosting your profits along the way!
In conclusion
Using psychology to boost sales isn't something new that just came out this year, it's been around for many years and will be here until the end of time, or until we become 100% AI lol. If you can strategically do some of the above points I mentioned, you will likely boost your sales in a short amount of time and be able to bootstrap your profits to even more money coming in
