Website owners around the world are trying to build up their rankings so they are stuck at the top and getting all of the traffic they can get. Now, this sounds like a great thing to do, but it's not always the easiest thing to do because of all the variables that come into play when you start your SEO journey. Search engine optimization isn't the easiest thing to do in the world, but you can start out on your own and see a positive movement with a few simple tricks.
Everyone talks about what you HAVE TO DO when it comes to SEO, but not many people are telling newbies what they should do in the beginning to help them reduce the number of mistakes early on. Luckily, you've landed in this discussion because I'll be going over 3 important things you need to focus on if you want to boost your rankings and improve your next SEO campaign. It does take a bit of research and implementation, but it's definitely worth it because you will be reducing the chances of really hurting your rankings.
Remove low-quality backlink possibilities
When you start doing your own SEO, you will quickly learn what backlinks are, and you will want to build thousands of them because you think more is better. With SEO, you need to focus more on quality instead of quantity if you want to top the rankings and stay there. Think of it this way, if you went out to dinner and ordered food, you'd probably want to get a milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top instead of 10 glasses of water. Now, I understand that there are people out there that hate milkshakes and prefer water, but it's just an example and you should be able to see what I'm getting at lol. The 10 glasses of water will fill you up, just like the milkshake, but the water isn't as flavorful or colorful as the milkshake. Backlinks are the same way, you'll want to build milkshakes and not glasses of water lol
Build relationships with authority websites in your niche
One of the best ways to build a great SEO campaign is to work on business relationships with niche related websites. You'll want to make sure they are already an authority because you'll benefit from them much later on when you eventually get a link on their website that is aimed at your pages
Business relationships are crucial when it comes to being really successful. There aren't many corporations out there that aren't partnered with some sort of niche related mega power and still taking over the industry unless you're Google and you buy the businesses you could have partnered with lol.
Add content to your website, then link to it
When you think of SEO, you might think you have to build a bunch of high-quality backlinks and that's it. Well, you have to optimize your own website as well as build these high quality links, and you have to aim these amazing links at your content to boost your entire website and not just your homepage A problem I run into a lot with clients websites is they've been building all of their backlinks to a few pages, when they have dozens that could be ranking, and their website actually suffers because of it.
What you'll need to do is build up some great links and aim them at blog posts or static pages on your website so you can diversify your incoming link profile. This little strategy goes a long way, and will eventually boost your website dramatically for all of your keywords when you've been doing it long enough. You won't jump right to the top of the rankings for your main keywords, but you could slowly climb up the ladder to success and stick to the top of the rankings over time
In conclusion
Doing SEO is definitely a difficult thing to do because it takes a lot of knowledge and experience to perfect everything you want to do. You can easily screw something up and then take a difficult path to fix it, then basically start over. If you follow the 3 points I talked about above, you will have a better time doing your own SEO and your rankings will eventually top the charts for most of your keywords
