Best sites to sell my products

I am planning to diversify my small business soon and part of this plan will be to sell Do-It-Yourself (D.I.Y) decorative items. I have been selling some items like jewelry and headbands on eBay for quite some time and have been quite successful so far. However, when it comes to those decorative items I want to sell them on sites which specifically deal in crafts. I want to know about some trusted websites and will be glad if you could suggest some.

I know there are several artsy crafty type websites. The only one I know of is Etsy, but that might be over saturated at this point. I would look for something popular that doesn't have too many people on it. Your product might be suitable for something like Bonanza Market.

I would develop your own website. Use a social media expert and push sales. You could possibly charge other crafters to list some of their products as well.
In the long term you would save money by not paying commission and be able to grow your brand.
The sky's the limit - wishing you all the best.

I totally agree! If you are thinking about starting your own business... you should put all of your effort on it and that includes things like creating your own site. With time, you will realize it was the best thing to do. You don't have to do it alone. It will be better if you find a professional to help you out!

I suggest doing with both shopify and other brands. I have managed to sell most of the stuff online through shopify basic. You can setup any other option if you have and sell through facebook and twitter. You can see that you may have to do some experimentation on this. You can't get all of this done that easily. And in such case you can also sell through the established sites such as amaozn, ebay and few others.

Thank you very much for your response. I think Facebook will be the best place to start as I already have a page and some followers over there. Since you told me that you have been successful at shopify I might try this one.

Apart from Facebook, you may also want to check etsy. If you have creative products then they can surely be offering you that option. Facebook and Shopify combination is good. It takes time for the shopify to convert though. Nothing happens overnight. And you have to work harder to get each lead. So make sure that you are getting into product promotion after the setup.

Why do you solely want to focus on sites that only deal with crafts if you're already enjoying the success on eBay? Yes, you can find the customers that are specifically interested in the crafts products but you can do the same on other big selling sites.

Anyway, I'd recommend that you consider the following options;
- Etsy,
- Handmade Amazon,
- iCraft,

Those three are all extremely good for DIY and selling crafts products. I hope that this helps you ;)

I might sell some of them on eBay. I want to experience how it will be like to sell my items on those specialized sites. I have looked at all the three sites you provided. Etsy seems to be a really good one. I might consider this one. Thank you very much.

Oh, I see. Yeah, I guess it makes sense that you want to try to sell your products at places that deal with them more exclusively... you could potentially find a gold mine there with new clients.

Etsy is really amazing and I agree that it would be the best fit for what you're making. Just try it out and I am sure that you won't be disappointed.

I am really glad that I was able to help you a bit ;)

Amazon and ebay would be the best for every type of product. They are most used for everything, selling things on there seems like your best bet.

Amazon is really the best way to sell products. Although, on eBay, I'm not sure anymore as there's a bunch of scammers that can easily scam you. Hope that eBay can come up with the solution about the better security of the transactions.

Hallo If you good in that then I would suggest you to start your own website, A simple website and Invest in advirtising it you can do that through social media ... and just keep all the money for yourself in the beginning it will be hard but instead of selling on sites which will be taking commissions you will take 100% of profits and it will be worthy all you need is patience and time and not give up :-)

So, you can easily success to sell your craft product. As per as I know amazon may your alternative option. You can try with amazon too. If possible to sell product on Aliebaba or aliexpress you can try with both giant site. There has also lot of successful seller as my seen. And I think you read other comments from above and you can try with them also. But my suggestion, if you success on ebay according to your explained, why you would like to shift to other? New place always risk to establish new business. So, try with your own, where you are now.

If you are successful on ebay, don't quit it! Many people dream of achieving that!...
You may or may not be successful in the next business investment and even if you are, diversification is very important for success ;)

Yes you are right here. I will continue to sell some of my products on eBay as I am already successful over there. I want to know more about how people would react to those products on other sites. There are chances of success and failure of course but I think I am ready to take this risk.

This is true. Many people who found success with ebay have now found it better to use the Amazon FBA. I think it depends on what you are selling. You have to always consider the automation. You can't easily do things otherwise. I can tell you that you can also start selling from the shopify as that also works for many. I am not sure if it always works but shopify is getting popular lately.

I would say Ebay is the best site for selling those girls items. Besides that you could try 11Street which is popular among the Asian buyers if that is your target audiences.

E-Bay is the best, but why not open your own site or blog and advertise on Facebook and Twiter. I have seen a lot of Dye art creation on Facebook and some of them are cheap to create and easy to do!
Wish you good luck with your business!

I already have a Facebook page and I will advertise for the products over there. I already have a blog but I don't have that much traffic. I want to explore new sites where I can sell my products. Who knows I might be successful at those other sites too.

How about using fiverr or zazzle here to sell your diy products, their reputation is also very high and paying through PayPal.

However, I think that selling diy physical products cannot earn much money because you need to produce every products one by one.

Fiverr doesn't really help you in a dispute, already happened to me. Also, they keep 20% of your payment which to me would be a lot. And yeah, diy products are optimal for a really small shop.

Well there are actually a number of places you could choose from to sell your stuff. Amazon is an incredibly popular choice, as it already has a huge demographic and is only growing more popular with each day. Ebay has also been around for years now, but it feels like it isn't nearly as popular as it used to be.

One of your best choices would be the site Etsy. It has been very popular in the last few years, and it is the place that a lot of people go to when they are in search of handcrafted items. It is pretty well known for that actually.

I do have a Facebook page and I will advertise my products on there. I joined Etsy yesterday and so far it seems to be a good website. I want to try my luck on this website first as I read some positive reviews.

You could also sell things on Offerup, Letgo or some of the selling apps. It is a great way to sell things in your local community. Most people are selling household items they no longer want or need, but craft items can be sold on there as well.

I have never heard of those sites but I will definitely check them up. I hope that they are international sites. I want to sell my products worldwide.

You can try Amazon or E-bay indeed, but I have seen up close experiences of fraud with some evil customers there.
My sister uses social media to run a very small own business, she sells from home made items to garage sales sometimes. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, are super popular and crowded, you just have to offer your products again and again. Another way is to make tutorials about your craft ideas on YouTube, that way you are promoting and selling at same time.

I am already selling some products on eBay. I think I will try amazon soon. I recently joined etsy. This idea about YouTube videos is for sure interesting. I already have a Facebook page with some followers and posting some videos might work. Thank you.

First of all, congrats on being successful on eBay. It means you could probably be successful on Amazon too. Then there is also Pinterest, which encourages small business owners and offers help. Finally, there is a little know site called Webnuggetz. It was set up for affiliate marketers. But people who own their own products are welcome to create webpages there too.

Um ... I don't know anything about it, but you might try Shopify. They say you can actually build the site on Facebook. That's what I read.

I know that Amazon and shopify both have to pay fees first in order to use their marketplace service.

However, there are many marketplace that are free to use and sell what you like.

So may I know what will be the benefits of some paid marketplace sites like Amazon and Shopify over the free marketplace ?

Since your products are handmade I think it would be a great idea to offer your services on Fiverr. You can take on offers from people that want unique products and you can make them. I think it's a good site to expand your business on.

I am not well versed with online business but I am a regular buyer of online stores. How about testing the waters in social media? I have many friends who are into drop shipping who are earning for years now. There is one woman who is into Facebook to promote her hair grower oil. She delivers the product by courier and she adds the cost of delivery to the price of her product. We already have bought from her 3 times and my sister also bought one recently. Maybe you can try that style of direct selling by using a Facebook fan page..
