Anyone using Wix website for their blogs or business?

I used it once just to try how it works, and they do have good web templates to work with, but it's better if you use your own domain and web hosting for your blogs. I can only suggest you Wix for CPA offers or affiliate marketing to make a landing page, but again it will be better if you have your own websites where you can control everything.

Good to hear. Yeah they seem to have some good templates. Thanks for the suggestion JackDan. I am currently looking other options but it seems that I will be trying Wix out pretty soon. I'm just compiling all my articles. Cheers!

I have used it before and it's a very nice but I find Wordpress much, much better.

Wix might be better to use if you're new to the whole website making thing but Wordpress is probably superior in every other way. It allows you far more freedom to realize your vision of the site/blog. If you compare the free Wix versus the free Wordpress features you will see Wordpress offers more. From hundreds of free themes to hundreds of amazing plugins.

So if you're a beginner than Wix is a good option since it's very easy to use and you won't get lost. Wordpress is a bit more ''advanced'' but definitely worth learning because the overall product will be better.

I start using it but it's pretty simple for me. As always it's hard to find a spot in place like that, you have to be the best there, and for me, it's complicated because I know that I don't have many skills

it's the reality. I need to have a graphic tablet to start doing real illustration and digital drawings to capt people's attention.

I used Wix website to build some small sites but I left it because it very slow to edit and hard to access the website after built.
I switch to Wordpress and I think it is a great choice to go with.

I see. May I ask what platform were you using before sir Tom when you used Wix? I saw a video where someone makes a guide on how to put up a business online using Wix. He was using a Macbook or something. But it was an Apple product. He seemed to be doing just fine. I was thinking that Wix is very user-friendly.

I also agree with you! Wix is simply too hard to use and I think their advertisement is simply misleading.

Today I use Wordpress and I am very happy with this platform and even point out to everyone.

I think wix is well suited to a biggener who wants to build his own website to display his skills or hobby or something like that.
I mean just for fun and to have a good time, it's not useful for bussiness.

Nah I have done in the past but WordPress is the only site I use now. Much better and easy for SEO also much faster as well.
Do you mean wix as in using the free version or paid, I prefer my own domain looks more professional i prefer a domain.com to an domain.wix.com or domain.weebly.com.

From my experience, I advise you not to use Wix to create your sites.

They simply make a misleading advertisement with ease in creating websites. But what about SEO? They do not provide any resource for you to optimize your pages for an SEO strategy.

My advice: Use Wordpress! It's easier and it sure has pretty much all the features you'll need on your site.

Yes everybody is saying the same thing. As for now, I am not aiming to get monetization or something. I just want a reliable free hosting website where I can put my online articles or ever I put up an online business.

I am also thinking about using WordPress instead since it's by far the most popular one.

When I started, I opted initially for Blogger. There you can use the free hosting with a domain of your own. The only disadvantage of the platform is that you can only use templantes for Blogger (which are few) and besides, they do not give much support for optimization in SEO.

But for starters, I think it's a good option besides Wordpress.

I used Wix to build a simple website for my video business, and I really liked the layout. I wasn't doing anything crazy, and there are definitely some functions that I wish I had through their service, but it's never been a huge deal for me. From my experience, I had a much better time using Wordpress than Wix, though. Wordpress is easier, and I could generally make a site that looked and performed better than what I could on Wix.

If you are thinking to use a free wix website, I suggest you to avoid using wix. You cannot monetize your free wixwebsite through network ads. When you are using free wix, you can use it for affiliate marketing but not for network ads, for instance, you cannot use adsense on your free wix website.
If you want to go premium with wix, don't do this. It may become a financial burden because you have to pay at least $4 every month. In 12 months youn will be paying $48. For this price, you can get your own domain hosted for two years.

I've heard about monetizing on wix. And yeah you are right vinaya. Now I believe that is a wise choice since it will help with my blog articles being published. Better to get a reliable host instead.

Whether you are using wordpresss, weebly, wix or anything else, there is a limitation on a free blog. Instead of going with free blog and using a subdomain, for example yoursite.wix.com or yoursiute.wordpress.com, it is better to have your own domain and get it hosted. A dot com normally cost $10 and you can get $1 per month hosting.

If you cannot use Adsense on your free wix website then I don’t think it is worth it. And for the premium, I don’t know but I have an aversion for anything that is paid online. There are so many freebies in the internet and if you are resourceful enough then you can just get something for free and no need to spend for. Maybe you can just suffice yourself with the good articles on your blogs for the desired traffic.

Some of my clients are using Wix. And for them it works. They are paid customers of Wix. And they have got domain and the data. So they are not planning to go for that business. I have found that in case of the Wix it may not be easy to extend like we do with the WordPress. So many are requesting me as a developer to migrate to the WordPress. If your site is getting bigger then it's not worth it.

I used Wix in the past to setup a clients website, just because they specifically requested for it. But if you really want to run a big business website, i suggest you go for something you have more control over like a hosted WordPress website. Wix gets the job done at the beginning but when you decide to scale they just might not be what you need.

Hi there thanks for your query. I was using this free domain for wix website and I saw many of my client also using domain from wix. I just used for test purpose how it is work and look like. As free that is not bed and as a new blogger, you can try with free domain like wix or blog spot. Wix provide free theme also. Which looks good. But, as you professional blogger or want to make business site, I never recommend to use such free site. There has lot of disadvantages. I want to say one most importance disadvantages like google never take care free domain and hosting site. So, finally you will be loser, if google will not take care for google ranking.

So, I suggest to you use subscribe domain and hosing from anywhere.

I've tried it before and it's alright. Like others have said, it's still good to have your own domain. But I believe Wix has that service of having your own domain now, but you'll have to pay for it monthly though. Their templates are decent, but I think it's better to learn HTML5 and Php myself as I don't like to have a blog that may end up looking like someone else's.

Wix always seems to have such limited tools, the only people I see using Wix are like teenagers on their first website or shady websites on Craigslist promoting illicit acts. I think it has an untrustworthy cache that you could easily avoid by just buying your own domain and setting up a simple HTML site. It's been said before but an hour reading about wordpress you can avoid almost any problems.

Yup, I do, and this is because they have a history of adding new tools and designs on a regular basis and because can build 1-pager parallax designs, insert background videos, create different background sections, all without touching any codes.

I use WIX for my personal site. I have found it to be quite easy to utilize, and they are always updating their services. I was able to easily post links there, and you do not have to be familiar with HTML to really utilize this site and make it work for you. Come to think of it, this discussion thread reminds me that I need to go and update my WIX account...be back soon...

That is what I heard also. Their hassle-free user interface makes it all neat and organized, that is a plus for them I guess. They are more suited for newbies and that's one thing I like about them since I don't know how to code yet. Glad this reminded you about your Wix account. Cheers!

I used Wix for some small sites but not for business, I only use websites on self hosting with a premium theme if I do business online, running websites on Wix is pretty slow thus I would not focus on this platform.

I use Wix just as a personal site to show my publications, a basic bio, my C.V., and links to my other blogs, so i have had a good amount of success with it. Of course, if you can afford a web designer and the whole nine yards, and your own domain name, then that looks best and works the best for you and your audience and clientele, but right now, as I grow my web presence and my followers, I am on a pretty tight budget, unfortunately...

Never wix to build your site. It's not that easy to use and you will struggle with SEO in the platform without success because they don't provide any SEO resources to help you. Go for WordPress, it is easy to use platforms and you will have thousands of resources for SEO at your disposal.

I have seen a website created using Wix. It was lovely and looked very professional. By the time I found out about Wix, I had already created websites using Webs and Weebly. I think if one were to compare either one of those DIY website building apps they would say they are all pretty much the same. If you asked my son, he would scratch those Ws and use the W that matters. Wordpress.

Yeah. Haven't really tried using Wix though since I heard a lot of people recommending Wordpress instead. Was just curious probably because of their advertisement. Lol. But I guess to each their own. If some people feel comfortable using Wix or Wordpress then I believe then can always recommend it to whoever is asking.

I would not use Wix. Its tempting because they do a good job of advertising it. It is all over the web. However I recommend word press, even for a beginner. Word press has a good reputation and because of its popularity, there is so much information if you get stuck. I also like their plugins, they are practically one-click and they have some new ones. I would go with word press any day, you won't go wrong.

This is the first time that I’ve heard of Wix and it looked good to me according to some comments above although there are the downsides like the flexibility. Perhaps I will agree with Wordpress because it is the most popular for content platform. I have been invited to several writing sites that are using Wordpress for the platform. They said that Wordpress had saved them a lot of work.
