Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
This is a pretty popular discussion around many forum software and admin communities. Would love to hear everyone's take on whether or not they believe forums are dying? What can be done to revive them, if anything?

The fact of the matter is, social networks will never replace forum websites. See, what makes forums special, is that you'll always find quality information if you dig hard enough, along with quality people to elaborate on those topics with.
Personally, I don't think forums are as popular as they used to be. However, I don't see them going extinct anytime soon. There has and always will be an audience of visitors, readers, and contributors that keep forums alive for good measure.
Regarding the part of "reviving" forums. I don't think they need to be revived. To be honest, I'd much rather have fewer forums with better quality writers, than many forums with low-quality contributors. I don't ever see forums (especially business related ones like this) just dying off. Personally, no, I don't think so. The fact of the matter is, social networks will never replace forum websites.
