7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

SEO has been on the rise in the last 5 years as one thing that every business owner needs for their website in order to be competitive.  There are more people browsing around on their smart phones making purchases than there were a few years ago on a desktop or laptop, which seems to be an ever increasing trend that some businesses may not know just yet.

When it comes to SEO, you will always need to be doing it in order to stay relevant within your community.  Now I'm not just talking about on social media, I'm talking about everywhere and that includes the search engines.

Most business owners might try and take a stab at their own SEO because "they know their website the best" which is great, but usually a bad thing.  Just doing one little thing wrong can make your entire website be seen in a bad light and eventually get it de-indexed.  So if you're thinking of doing it yourself, without prior knowledge of how to do it, please read the 7 reasons you should outsource your SEO to an expert 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

1. SEO isn't exactly the easiest thing to do
When it comes to optimizing your website for the search engines, there's no one article that can cover everything to do.  You won't be able to register on an internet marketing forum and be able to do all the work yourself flawlessly.  It takes SEO experts years of research and implementation in order to be successful, and they do it because it's what they love, you do it because you want rankings.  Being driven by rankings alone, you may be pulled down a path to the "quickest" rankings possible.  This will usually end bad because there's no such thing as quick rankings when it comes to SEO, there's only black hat methods to increase your rankings quicker than normal but then you get hit with a penalty and fade away from the search results.

Hire a professional before you harm your own website.

2. SEO is always changing
If you read a bunch of content about SEO and start doing whatever others are saying, that information has a shelf life.  SEO is always changing because Google is always changing how they view websites and rank them within the search results.  You're basically at the mercy of Google when it comes to ranking, and they never let you know what they're doing lol.

Even if you take the time to read five books on SEO and become a self-taught expert, it’s a temporary expertise at best. Google regularly rolls out major and minor algorithm changes.

It will take you too much time to focus on learning how to do everything properly and run your own business as well.  So this is why you should be outsourcing the SEO work to an expert.

3. Messing up will hurt you for a while
When it comes to SEO, the search engines are not nice to you if you mess up.  It doesn't matter if it's your first screw up or your 1,000th, they aren't nice to someone who breaks the rules.

You may read a book and think that having more keywords on your pages are a good thing, but actually are a horrible thing because the search engines will see you as falsifying what you're actually doing and they won't like it.

Here are some ways you can hurt your rankings:

  • Artificial backlinks
  • Keyword stuffing (like mentioned above)
  • Unrelated keywords
  • Cloaking techniques
  • Duplicate content
  • Cannibalizing URLs

A Good SEO provider knows exactly how to avoid all these, and that's why you should send the work to them instead of trying to do it yourself.

4. SEO experts already have all the tools
Now there are a lot of free tools out there to help you out along your SEO journey, but most of the great ones will cost you a good amount of money each month.  So instead of investing in those tools to do the work for you, you can just pay a credible SEO expert to do the work because they likely have access to all of these tools already 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

If you're trying to pay for all of these tools such as ahrefs, Semrush, Moz Pro and Majestic... You're looking at $680 every single month.  Now if you were to pay an SEO expert who already has access to all of these, you're likely to pay around the same price, but they will also run your SEO campaigns for you and increase your rankings.

So look at it this way, you're not having to learn for years and paying the same price it would cost you alone to rent these services, but you're getting increased rankings by the experts.  Some people would see that a win win lol

5. A good SEO will offer analytics
SEO software can be pretty complicated if you don't know what you're doing.  For this reason, there are a lot of people who outsource the work to a credible SEO agency.  The client will not have to worry about what is going on, they will just have to look at an analytics page set up for them and check it out from time to time.

A good SEO will set up your analytics and show you what to look for as well as set up keyword trackers and give you logins so you can see what's going on with all of the keywords being tracked on a daily basis.

It could get pretty overwhelming with all the work that you have to look over, and for this reason I notice that a lot of my clients don't even ask for reports anymore lol.  They just ask questions about the information showing up on their dashboards, which tells me they don't look at reports because it could get super complicated pretty quick 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

6. They will watch what your competitors are doing.
I know that with every new client I get, I will check out their competitors and see what they are doing or have already done in terms of SEO and marketing.  I will see if they're advertising through Bing Ads, Facebook ads or Adwords and if they rank for any competitive terms in the search engines.  If they're ranked high for a great keyword, I will figure out why and reverse engineer that campaign in order to get my clients ranked with them 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

A good SEO expert will always know what to do after they evaluate your competition.  Usually it takes some time to look over everything, but in the end it's worth it 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

7. The ROI is nothing to be toy'd with
SEO has a really good ROI potential, so if you go at it yourself, you could ruin your chances of getting those really nice paychecks at the end of the month lol.  SEO is compounding, as well as the ROI, because it stays live for a long time.  If you try to do it yourself and you screw everything up for months before you realize what's going on, you aren't going to be sitting pretty 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

SEO has one of the best ROI's in the world right now because, like mentioned above, it is compounding.  This means that your efforts will stack on top of each other and carry over month to month.  By hiring a really good SEO expert you are putting your website in their hands and they know what to do from the start in order to get you those top rankings over time 7 reasons to outsource your SEO work to an expert

In Conclusion:
You should always think about outsourcing your SEO work to a credible agency because they will usually bring in the traffic.  It may take time, so don't worry if the agency asks you to sign a contract.  If you do sign a contract, be sure to look everything over before hand and even have a lawyer look it over before you sign anything.  You don't want to get locked into something pointless and pay a premium for it if there's no chance it will work.

If I were to outsource my tasks. I'd surely be outsourcing the content development part. Because that is more draining. And it's not easy to make money when you spend hours on trying to write content and building links. Most of the time you have to outsource such task which does not yield in some benefit such as that. I have learned it and trying to understand how that part works as well. So on that basis, I'd say outsourcing requires experiment. Some of the time firms may help with your requirement and some of the time you have to it yourself.

I do my own SEO. I have been doing this for many years. I was introduced to SEO through an online course. The course not only taught me to write online articles properly, monetize contents but also SEO techniques. I not only do SEO for my websites and contents, but also for clients. Since I am already offering my SEO services to clients, I may not hire SEO expert to work on my websites, however, I understand the importance of hiring an expert. If you don't know SEO, you should definitely hire and an expert, even if you know SEO, there are many benefits of having an expert to work for you. Only the expert will know the latest trends on SEO.

Maybe if you have zero knowledge on SEO then it is reasonable for you to hire an expert on whether to have him do that job or to teach you how to do the job. As I had said in another discussion, hiring an SEO expert is good for big websites only. For small personal websites like a blog, I guess it is better for you to do the SEO work yourself because of budgetary constraints.

That's true. I have never hired an seo expert and I have always done my seo work, However, I know my limitation and I cannot make my site number one. In order to reach that position, you need a professional. Like you said it is not possible to hire an expert if you have a small blog, however, you can consider hiring an expert by paying one time fees and reaping benefits for many years to come.

I do most of the SEO work in my blog and far so good I'm not doing badly with it.

I try to look out on what's new in the SEO world to emulate.I also look at what my friends wouldn't call them competition does and try to do same or enhance mine.

Hiring an expert isn't such a bad idea. It good that from time to time an expert input is allowed to breath new air and life on a blog,so with this I think hiring a SEO expert is pertinent.

Maybe if I had a forum online then I would have hired a SEO expert. So far I have only a blog which I am managing that quite well. I read some books about SEO and I have also been going through many tutorials online. The best thing is that I actually have a friend who knows a bit about SEO and he has been helping me ever since I started blogging. Without him I wouldn't have reached that far.

I think these are all very good reasons to outsource, and most of the time it is what I advise my clients since I am also not an SEO expert but since I am somewhat in that realm I always get asked about it. I think it is best because the services aren't all that expensive and the time you get to save you could just put into something more important which is often something that will just generate you revenue. Learning everything that comes with SEO might be worth it if you feel like you will be needing it regularly throughout the lifespan of your business, but more often than not, the advantages of just hiring someone will often outweigh the time and effort you'd need to put in just to get the same or even less effective results than if you had just paid someone to do the job better instead.

I actually do all of my SEO completely alone. I have never really hired any SEO experts to help me out. Everything that I've learned about this area was self-taught from the internet. Some information was obtained through video guides and some through articles. I do think that if you have many websites and you're constantly dealing with other aspects such as content creation, marketing, advertising, then it can be wise to hire an SEO person to help you with the workload. But then you, of course, also have to be able to afford their service.

I understand that some do their own SEO - but unless they are able to find out of this world guest posting opportunities, I don't see how. I mean, I don't think it's that easy to score guest posting opportunities without either a lot of money or something to bargain with. However, I could be wrong, though.

I recently started teaching SEO to a junior co-worker and I realised how difficult SEO really is and how much SEO evolved in the last 5 years. I remember the good old days of SEO when things were easy and Keyword Planner was the only tool you ever needed as well as the fact that you only needed to learn a few basic concepts about on-page optimization and link building.

Nowadays you need tons of paid tools and a huge data base of knowledge as well as personal implemented tests. You can't learn SEO if you don't practice it so if you don't want to outsource you may well learn SEO and change your profession because there is no way you'll be having success with just a few SEO techniques.

When I received the first SEO lesson, my instructor only taught about using keywords. later I understood SEO is more than using keywords, it is also related to site design , site speed, backlinks and such more. These it is never enough to work on the SEO techniques that you used to in the past, new techniques are evolving and you need to use them as well.

I must say that with the recent experiences I've had when it comes to the issue of outsourcing works to others is concerned, I have to be careful while giving out works to others in the name of outsourcing the work to others in the industry that can do a perfect job all round for me. Well, since you said it is going to be an expert that would be handling the SEO work, then I think he/she won't want to do things that would dent his/her reputation. So, working with an expert is cool to me.

I have been reading in several discussions that SEO specialists have the tools and the skills to help your website get a higher search engine ranking. However, what baffles me is the reason that SEO is not an exact science that the net result cannot be expected to occur at once and worse, no time is given for the results to be seen. With that reasoning, I have the impression that those specialists are somewhat guessing with some aspects of SEO. And that’s what I don’t like.
