5 backlink methods to help entrepreneurs on a shoe string budget

When it comes to link building, there's not secret that you need to do it in order to increase your rankings across all of the search engines.  You will need to continually be building up your links in order to stay above your competition and rank for multiple keywords only to bring in hundreds or thousands of visitors each month.  When you're doing your own backlinking, you will need to get your links from high authority websites that are already trusted by the search engines.  By getting these links you're basically showing the search engines that this website likes you and you should be given a boost in the rankings.  Think of it as a popularity contest and the website with the most high authority links is prom king in your niche lol

The main problem for people doing their own backlinks on a shoestring budget is that a lot of the software and services out there to help you find these great link locations are pretty pricey.  One service that I use for all of my clients costs me around $150 a month and all it does is look up backlinks for me so I don't have to do it myself lmao   It's a great tool for me to use, but if you think about it, my clients are paying for it.  It's not the best tool to be using if you're only going to be looking up links for your own website, so you'll have to improvise when it comes to being on a budget.

Of course you'll have to bootstrap your profits which means that every penny coming into your business account needs to be used for paying business bills and new advertising or SEO methods.  This way you will be able to be more successful in a shorter amount of time.  Bigger companies don't have to worry about this too much because they have an advertising budget, but if you're not able to spend much money on this, you'll have to do everything on your own by bootstrapping.



1. Write for an authority site
Some people will tell you that blogging and guest posting is dead, which simply isn't true because I do it daily and get a decent amount of traffic because of it   Of course you have to do it the right way from the start otherwise you'll just burn your own website and some social accounts along the way, which is never a good thing. 

Back in the day you could simply write up a pitch and send it to all the blogs in your niche to see who would allow you to add a guest post to their pages.  This still works well, but not as much as if you become a write for an authority website in your niche.  What you'll basically be doing is gaining the trust of the website owner and they will allow you to post content whenever you want, all while having your signature link aimed at your money website   Now getting to this point isn't easy, you will need to consistently be submitting requests to be a guest poster, and after you get a few up and running you will pitch to them asking if you can come on board as a writer for their website.  Sometimes you will be able to get paid for your articles while other times you'll have to do it for free.  If you're getting a dofollow backlink to your website from each article, don't worry about getting paid for the post because they're paying you with a link lol

In the old days of blogging, you would pitch a guest post, write it, and then move onto another website.

Think of Neil Patel and all the articles he posts around online.  He's not seen as a guest poster because he has built his name up so much by doing guest posts that he's now seen as an authority figure within the niche of online marketing and people encourage him to come in and write on their websites   If you can get to this level of authority within your niche, the backlink flood gates will open and people will buy anything you're associated with lol.


2. Collaborations with Influencers within your own industry
Collaborating with influencers in your industry only helps you build authority for yourself.  People will see you working with a specific influencer and think "Well if this guy thinks he or she is good, I do too!" and that's when your authority begins to go up.

Now you're not just building trust with the people following that influencer, which is amazing, you're also building trust with the influencer themselves.  You will work with them on a few different projects and eventually the influencer will allow you to get a link on their website which will only help you in terms of rankings  

Getting one influencer to link to you is great, getting 10 to link to you is even better   When you're working with one influencer you will be showing other influencers that you're credible and someone they should also be working with.  They will follow suite and bring you on board, which wille eventually get you that backlink you were hoping to get from ther website or blog


3. Have a in-disposable resource
When it comes to getting noticed online today, it's extremely difficult.  What you'll now need to do is create something that has value, but you're giving away for free.  Usually this works best if you're writing up case studies so others can come in and see what you've already found out about something they were going to try.  You're basically field testing techniques, methods, services, products, etc. and writing about them in detail so everyone can see what you experienced.  Give your own opinions about the entire experience and people will likely share it, gaining you some nice backlinks in the process

What you can do is create a guide on something and post it to the public.  You will talk about your experience and how others can use whatever you're talking about to their advantage.  People love step by step guides because that means they don't have to do all the research themselves lol.


4. Get some interviews
We all know that getting interviewed means you're being asked questions by someone who has a following and wants to post your answers for these people.  A lot of these interviewers are now running podcasts for their followers and you'll need to get on them in order to get the word out about your service or product.  Now you won't usually get links from the podcast, but you will be able to say your website within the recording and people will look you up, and hopefully share what you're offering.

Not many link building strategies talk about this, mainly because it's unknown.  What you'll be doing is basically getting your link within the podcast description, hopefully, and even if people don't click through, Google and the other search engines will notice it and give you a pat on the back for it lol.


5. Reverse Guest Posting
We all know what guest posting is because of previous knowledge or you just read this entire discussion lol.  But some of you are wondering what reverse guest posting is and how it will work to acquire a backlink?

Well reverse guest posting is when you ask bloggers to come in and post on your blog or website.  They will usually do it in order to spread the word about their own website, but they may not always know the benefits so you might not have to give them a backlink. 

The beauty in this is that a lot of these guest posters will usually have a page somewhere on their blog that will list where their own services and websites are mentioned, meaning you get a nice little backlink in return for them adding content to your website




In Conclusion:
It's never easy starting off on a shoe string budget, but if you follow the 5 simple tricks I posted above, you can get some pretty awesome backlinks aimed right at your pages   It will definitely take time and a decent amount of effort to churn out quality content, but it's worth it in the end when you're ranking in the top 3 on Google for a competitive keyword which will send you hundreds or thousands of orders each month
