Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 10: Shave Your Head!

25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup part 3
Well shaving your head might seem a little extreme. But sometimes going to the extreme is the only way to raise funds! And your hair will always eventually grow back anyway! And while shaving your head might be something you would do more to raise funds and support and solidarity for those who have cancer who can lose their hear during treatment. It can actually raise a huge amount of money!

Which is why shaving your head can be a good way to raise funds. Even if it's not for the feint hearted! But still, a very brave and noble way to raise funds none the less!

BTW: This can be done by both males and females! 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup part 3

What you'll need:

  • A barber who can shave all your hair off or just DIY with a pair of trimmers a razor.
  • To advertise and promote it and get people to sponsor you to do it (this is where the money is).
  • To record the event (before and after) or just to take some pictures of your bald head.
  • A hat to wear for if and when it's really cold outside!
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 11: Nearly New Sale
Jumble sales and car boot sales are great ways to raise money for a startup. By selling those things you no longer want, need or can live without. But forget selling them for next to nothing! Nearly new sales (NCT's) are like jumble sales but not as cheap. For this would be more for gear and things that are nearly new and still have at least half their initial value in them. Take nearly new baby items like pram, strollers, car seats, activity books, baby clothes, highchairs, clothes, toys, cots, games, nursery stuff etc etc, moms to be will snap these up if it means they can save money and help out a new business/charity as well.

What you'll need:

  • Enough gear and stuff you can sell at at least half what you originally paid for it.
  • A location to sell it at such as at a local or national car boot sale or jumble sale.
  • To advertise and promote it - this is key to how many people know of it and turn up.
Fun & Creative Fundraising Ideal 12: Football Match / 5-A-Side
Holding a local football or 5 a side match between you and your mates or you vs your mates. Or your business vs another, is a great way to not only bring people together in the community and drum up publicity for your new startup, but also a great way to raise funds for it too! All while having some fun and maybe scoring a few well celebrated goals too. Think of charity football matches, they are all the rage amongst the rich and famous celebrities. They do them for these reasons to raise support and funding for their preferred charities. But it's not just the rich and famous that can use football matches to raise funds. Any business or individual can do this and get sponsored by people for it which can be quite lucrative with the amount of football fans fanatics out there!

What you'll need:

  • To put together two teams that can play against each other (don't forget the ref!)
  • A venue/pitch you can play at such as your local playing field or even inside a leisure centre court.
  • To advertise/promote it and get enough people to sponsor you to do it which is where the money is.

Haha, Mike! You make me laugh 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup part 3 Thanks for that and thank you for the ideas.

The ''best'' one for me out of these three is the nearly new sale. More people should consider it since we all hoard certain things that we no longer have any use for. Why not sell them and make some money?

Shaving hair would take a lot of courage though. At least for the majority of people since we tend to cherish our hair like it's gold. I would consider doing it but not really for myself but for a good cause - a charity.

Well this was surely an interesting post. I like the football match idea. Although it might need more preparing and planning to do compared to nearly new sale. Not necessarily, but you do need to get two teams together, place to play, people to watch the game... But it is a nice idea in general 25+ Fun and Creative Ways to Fundraise Your Startup part 3

I can relate with the football match as a way to raise funds for a purpose. I have seen some rich men that are set for a course host football tournaments in a way to raise funds for a particular thing they want to do for the community. So, I am a witness of such move.

A football match or a sports event is one good way of attracting potential investors to your fundraising campaign. I remember in the olden times when public schools would be holding their own sports fest to raise funds for their school. The sports activities will feature one school team against another school team. Think of the interest that it can gather. And not content with that, they will be inviting personalities like the town mayor or even the provincial governor. And at the end of the day, their fundraising never fails.
