How to start a website?

Hello, I am trying to make my own website to sell my services and I was wondering how I would go about this? I am certainly new to this so I have no idea where to start or where to go. I'd truly appreciate any help, thank you!

Your best bet, since you're just starting up, would be to purchase a premium wordpress theme and get it on your own hosting account.

A good theme won't cost more than $75 and the hosting is up to you. Most hosting companies will have a one click wordpress install, but make sure yours does before you sign up.

first you should know how to write in html and then design your site and if you can't just go to fiver website and found someone to do it for you it's cheap maybe about 50 dollar or more and when you design it completely it's time to use it and make income from it for that you can do so many things but the thing that is right now more successful is affiliate marketing google that figure it out what it is and then become rich...

You first need to get your domain. You can buy domain from services such as Go Daddy, Namecheap etc. Once you have a domain, you will have to find a hosting. You can use your own domain registrant as host or get a host of your choice. Some of the finest hosts are namecheap, iPage etc. Chose a hosting provider of your choice. Once your domain is hosted, install a content management system. Wordpress is common content management system. Now you are ready to start your website.

Well if you are a newbie then i suggest you to hire some professional web designers, because it is not possible to develop a service oriented website all by yourself. Or if you are bold enough to just try it out alone then go ahead, don't let anybody discourage you, Other members have already messaged the instructions on how to develop are explained in the above. Among all these the best one I suggest is wordpress, because its a great site for beginners and it also provides wide rage of tools and options.

I would suggest you start by writing a list of things you want the site to do, and that will help you determine if the site falls inside or outside of your development skill set.

Assuming it falls within, you'll need to start thinking about the appearance of the site. Such as whether you want a multi-page site or a single page site, a site that adjusts to different device screens or different site interfaces per device, layout of the features, color scheme, etc.

Before you start coding ready your system so you can write and test your code, depending on the languages you intend to use. For example, you will likely need a browser (or several) to test against. If you're using server languages like PHP you'll need a webserver setup to be able to run the code.

Once you start coding, you'll need to think about how you want to organize the site's files/folders.

After the site is built, you'll need to find a hosting provider that meets your site's needs, and get a domain name for your site.

PS: W3schools is an incredible resource for helping you learn how to code. Bluefish is a great free webdesign tool.

Hi
All the steps have already been mentioned on here. Something I did as a newbie, and you can do it right here on SEOClerks, is contact a fellow Seller Level 2 or Level 3+ with positive ratings. You can have a basic Wordpress website designed starting at $10. I would contact the Seller and let them know the functionalities you need for your website and have them build one for you. As you have time, there are great resources online for you to learn how to build your own Wordpress website. This is great for saving you money. Also, learn how to create websites and sell them to clients.

If your new I would suggest studying up on how word press works, which is great for those that want a site but don't want to learn how to code. You can go to Udemy.com and find a good course on how to build a site on word press for around 10 bucks. WordPress is not that hard once you get the basics down, yo can have a site up and running in a few hours tops.

Depends on what your site is: Are you looking for an e-commerce site? A blog? A platform for users? There are many alternatives depending on what you want to build. Definitely get hosting and a cheap domain from a reputable company (stay away from Hostgator and GoDaddy).

First off, I'd recommend buying a domain. If you can't afford that, then go to a free hosting site that offers free domains and hosting. You can buy a domain in the future, once you start making money if you want. If you already have a little money, I'd suggest finding a freelancer to design and build your website so that it looks professional.

The first things to do when you plan to have a website is to get a cost estimate to determine if you can afford it. Next is the domain name and description of your website. Third is the design, who and how to do it. And before embarking on getting a domain name registered, make out a short term and long term plan. At least that can give you a guide for the operation and maintenance of your website.
