1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips
When it comes to pinterest we all may not be very in depth when it comes to marketing. Pinterest marketing isn't always for everyone because it's not the typical kind of marketing we're use to. You'll have to get down and dirty liking, sharing, pinning and repining a lot of things but staying under the radar while you do it.
I'm just going to get right into it.
1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips
1. Upgrading to a business account
This is actually pretty simple to do. All you have to do is go through the process here: https://business.pinterest.com/en/getting-started After you've finished and your personal account is now a business account you will gain access to analytics. Having analytics is one of the best ways to get a better idea on what your traffic is doing, and we all love knowing that
2. Make the best profile you can.
Make the profile you think would attract your target market. Be sure to add some keywords to your name in order to instantly let users know what you're all about. Let's say you sell skateboards, your name is now "Johnny Doe: Skateboard master and shredder". People will see that, click your name, and love you forever (not really). You will also need to have at least one keyword in your description for the same reasons, but instead of having it for the users you're having it for the algorithms. You will want to add a link to your website which is how you will get some people to click through and make a purchase.
3. Rich Pins are your friends
Pinterest seems to prefer rich pins probably because there is some extra info with these. There are actually different types of these which all help. You can see how to enable rich pins on your website by following this url: https://help.pinterest.com/en/articles/enable-rich-pins-your-site
4. Branded board(s) for your website or blog.
This board is specifically for your website or blog and it solely to drive traffic to your website. This will be your first board and your featured board in order to make the biggest impact. You may meet a lot of people when it comes to posting and pinning, but this board is just for business.
5. Categorized Boards
You can have all sorts of boards, but make sure they're categorized for a bigger impact. Each board will be specific to a sub niche to your blog or website. So if you're an internet marketer you can set up a blog and have sub niches such as PPC campaigns, social media marketing, google, etc. Each of these should have their own board on pinterest.
You can have personal boards as well, but if you're trying to profit from them then you'll need to be adding some affiliate links to your content
Affiliates love pinterest since they allow affiliate links, you don't even have to cloak them, but it's probably wise to shorten then so that you don't have a 900 character URL showing.
6. Jam your keywords into your descriptions
Keyword heavy descriptions are still a good way to help you rank high within the pinterest search. Similar to LinkedIn, you can abuse the search function by keyword stuffing. You might run into problems with this later on, but for now you're pretty safe adding loads of keywords in your descriptions. Pinterest doesn't show full descriptions within the search, so if you jam your keywords inside the beginning of the description then you're chances of being found are much better.
7. Use your descriptions wisely
When you're adding an alt description to your website you'll want to add the same thing to your pin because it's what will be pulled and shown on pinterest. Having more keywords is always a good thing when it comes to rankings on Pinterest
8. Branded Images
Make sure you have a name, URL, logo or water mark on them just in case someone uses the image and doesn't link back to you. This way if someone does do this, the people viewing it will know where it's from and you could get some additional traffic from it.
9. Group Boards
When it comes to boards, there is a plethora of them to choose from lol. Every niche has loads of boards so you don't have to worry about finding the perfect ones. All you have to do is contact the owners and see if you can get in. Be sure to not abuse their boards because you will be gone pretty quick if you do. Be supportive when in these boards by repining and liking other members stuff and be sure not to spam.
10. Automation is your friend
You can usually get away with a little bit of automation when it comes to pinterest, but don't go overboard. Pinterest is much more laid back when it comes to third party software helping you to automate your posts unlike other social media platforms who will burn your account in hellfire if they see anything unnatural lol.
