1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

When it comes to pinterest we all may not be very in depth when it comes to marketing. Pinterest marketing isn't always for everyone because it's not the typical kind of marketing we're use to. You'll have to get down and dirty liking, sharing, pinning and repining a lot of things but staying under the radar while you do it.

I'm just going to get right into it.

1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

1. Upgrading to a business account
This is actually pretty simple to do. All you have to do is go through the process here: https://business.pinterest.com/en/getting-started After you've finished and your personal account is now a business account you will gain access to analytics. Having analytics is one of the best ways to get a better idea on what your traffic is doing, and we all love knowing that 1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

2. Make the best profile you can.
Make the profile you think would attract your target market. Be sure to add some keywords to your name in order to instantly let users know what you're all about. Let's say you sell skateboards, your name is now "Johnny Doe: Skateboard master and shredder". People will see that, click your name, and love you forever (not really). You will also need to have at least one keyword in your description for the same reasons, but instead of having it for the users you're having it for the algorithms. You will want to add a link to your website which is how you will get some people to click through and make a purchase.

3. Rich Pins are your friends
Pinterest seems to prefer rich pins probably because there is some extra info with these. There are actually different types of these which all help. You can see how to enable rich pins on your website by following this url: https://help.pinterest.com/en/articles/enable-rich-pins-your-site

4. Branded board(s) for your website or blog.
This board is specifically for your website or blog and it solely to drive traffic to your website. This will be your first board and your featured board in order to make the biggest impact. You may meet a lot of people when it comes to posting and pinning, but this board is just for business.

5. Categorized Boards
You can have all sorts of boards, but make sure they're categorized for a bigger impact. Each board will be specific to a sub niche to your blog or website. So if you're an internet marketer you can set up a blog and have sub niches such as PPC campaigns, social media marketing, google, etc. Each of these should have their own board on pinterest.

You can have personal boards as well, but if you're trying to profit from them then you'll need to be adding some affiliate links to your content 1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips Affiliates love pinterest since they allow affiliate links, you don't even have to cloak them, but it's probably wise to shorten then so that you don't have a 900 character URL showing.

6. Jam your keywords into your descriptions
Keyword heavy descriptions are still a good way to help you rank high within the pinterest search. Similar to LinkedIn, you can abuse the search function by keyword stuffing. You might run into problems with this later on, but for now you're pretty safe adding loads of keywords in your descriptions. Pinterest doesn't show full descriptions within the search, so if you jam your keywords inside the beginning of the description then you're chances of being found are much better.

7. Use your descriptions wisely
When you're adding an alt description to your website you'll want to add the same thing to your pin because it's what will be pulled and shown on pinterest. Having more keywords is always a good thing when it comes to rankings on Pinterest 1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

8. Branded Images
Make sure you have a name, URL, logo or water mark on them just in case someone uses the image and doesn't link back to you. This way if someone does do this, the people viewing it will know where it's from and you could get some additional traffic from it.

9. Group Boards
When it comes to boards, there is a plethora of them to choose from lol. Every niche has loads of boards so you don't have to worry about finding the perfect ones. All you have to do is contact the owners and see if you can get in. Be sure to not abuse their boards because you will be gone pretty quick if you do. Be supportive when in these boards by repining and liking other members stuff and be sure not to spam.

10. Automation is your friend
You can usually get away with a little bit of automation when it comes to pinterest, but don't go overboard. Pinterest is much more laid back when it comes to third party software helping you to automate your posts unlike other social media platforms who will burn your account in hellfire if they see anything unnatural lol.

In Conclusion:
These are the first 10 of my 20 total marketing tips for pinterest. If you're reading this down the road, much later than I posted it, be sure to look up the guidelines of Pinterest and how it's set up to be sure if these still work 1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

I have been a member on Pinterest since 5 years. In the beginning I was using it too much. However, later I got too tired of using so many social media which included Pinterest. A year ago I upgraded my personal account to business account. Apart from these upgrade, I have not done any thing on Pinterest since a long time. These Pinterest marketing tips are very useful and informative.

1. Upgrading to a business account
If a person is serious about using Pinterest to earn money, they should do this first.

2. Make the best profile you can.
A good first impression is always key. May I ask if you put a statement in your profile about affiliate links? In the USA we are required to disclose if our pins have affiliate links.

3. Rich Pins are your friends
This is a feature made in Pinterest heaven. What people need to realize is that they are a form of advertising. So be sure you know what you're using rich pins, you don't want to advertise poorly, make a bad impression, and chase your customers away.

4. Branded board(s) for your website or blog.
Took me a few years to figure this out. Don't know why the light bulb didn't go off sooner. (O.o) But it finally dawned on me to use Pinterest to drive traffic to my websites.

5. Categorized Boards
I kind of wish Pinterest would add some more categories but I work with what's there.

6. Jam your keywords into your descriptions
Hashtags used to work, but now they don't. What I usually do is search Pinterest for pins I think might be similar to mine to see what shows up and what kinds of words were used in the description.

7. Use your descriptions wisely
People say folks on Pinterest don't read descriptions. They just look at the pretty pictures. That's not true! People do read!

8. Branded Images
Nothing more frustrating than finding a pin I like and then I can't figure out where it came from!! I found a gorgeous painting of a child on Pinterest. I had to search over land and sea to find out who the artist was!

9. Group Boards
I like Group Boards, for the simple reason that it's a way for me to help out my fellow bloggers and home-biz entrepreneurs. With several people adding pins to the pinboard it keeps your profile active and your friend gets to benefit by sharing their items with your followers, probably a different audience from their followers. It's a win-win.

10. Automation is your friend
Third party software for automation is very helpful. But like you say, don't go overboard. I once thought that I could “set it and forget it” and the posting process would work while it slept. It did. But when I went to look at how my links appeared for public viewing, I had a do a lot of editing so that the content didn't look like spam.

Uumm ... I guess from my responses, you figured out that I'm active on Pinterest. 1 - 10 of 20 Pinterest Marketing Tips

I think I created my Pinterest account in 2013. Since then my pins have been viewed almost half of million times. The number is really big for me because I was active in the beginning, but not now. Pinterest has 150 monthly active users, which means the social media site has a huge potential.
I have never participated in Group boards. I have been recommended to join group boards and pin on these group boards for better conversion. This is something I need to check out.

I agree that the profile is very important because it is not only your ID but your business card as well. Whatever you put in your profile is what one sees you as a person or a businessman. And I guess putting in some personal notes will be to your advantage like your expertise in other fields and maybe you can also add your education attainment if you were an exceptional student. And for the business side, a short list of you valued clients will enhance your profile.
