Trying to work on your mobile phone only - can you do it?

So as you may know, my computer has gone to PC heaven on me (although I'd rather it went to PC hell lol). And right now I'm trying to complete orders on my fone (iPhone 6). And I can a lot of stuff but it's kinda finicky if you know what I mean!? I can do most types of things like manage some orders on here, update people, copy and paste, even write articles, that sort of thing. But as for other stuff forget about it! Like social media posting, there's no way I can open 10-20 tabs at once on my fone using Safari. Even opening multiple tabs in Chrome browser doesn't open like how they do on the PC. Plus all my saved logins are saved in my browser on my PC along with the passwords to the email accounts for them so I can't even reset the passwords on my fone for them anyway. Now they say that today's smartphones are like mini-computers in our pockets. Well that's not really true is it? I mean, it's not like a windows operating system where you have a mouse pointer and you can do things on it quickly. Sure, I can flick from one app to the next with a double tap on the home button. But it's still not quite like a PC.I've got a new computer coming in a couple of days. One with much better spec and much more RAM, CPU, GFX card etc so that should mean I can work much faster than before so maybe it's a blessing in disguise! Well that's how I'm thinking about it anyway! But so I'm just wondering, has anyone here ever had to work on your fone only due to your computer dying or something? How did you manage to do that?

Working on your mobile phone only is difficult I can't do it because it can sometime malfunction or you can have a dead battery and it will mess up your working performance its better to work on PC if u want to.PC is better to me to work.

I agree with you that it is not easy to work online with smartphone because the screen is not huge enough to see the rest of the page. Furthermore, opening up the tabs makes the smartphone runs slower, keeps hanging up the application.

If it just about updating, then I have no problems with working with phones, sometimes it much easier for me.I think working on a PC is just the way out for a good online experience, so PC for me.

For me personally, it's a challenge for certain forms of work like blog writing, etc. However very convenient if your business is conducted on photo-sharing platforms like instagram and pinterest.

For me working on my phone is quite convenient, but it all depends on what kind of work you are doing on your phone if it's call related it,s fine but when its comes to a job that require you to navigate around on the internet or typing the computer for me is better.

Working in mobile phone, eh? I think it's a pretty awkward thing to do. I try to do something like that before, it didn't turn out so well. I hate working on mobile phone, but sometimes, you just can't avoid. I would choose to work on laptops, or tablets. I also hate the small screen of mobile phones.

I've heard it was possible to earn money on your phone but I have not earned anything myself. I've been looking around a lot but still no luck.

yeah i understand that many says the era of the big computers are finished maybe they are right about liking posts on Facebook or making video calls but about the working' that is quite impossible, the things that you can do with your computer is much more than mobile you can have a lot of tabs on your computer and lots of tasks in different works.
so in working area computers are much ahead from phones

working on a cell phone only has gotten a lot easier over the years, but it would be hard for me because I make music, and many music making apps for the phone are not at the level that I need them to be, now if I had a high end phone like an I-phone, I just may be able to survive with a phone only, but with this Lg phone, it's just not going to work.

I think working on your mobile phone would be tough, but it would definitely be do-able. It would probably take some time getting used to the small screen and how everything works on your mobile device but I think after a few weeks you would doing just fine with your work flow.

I agree, it could be done, but it would be a bit weird to type papers, but I guess if your a pro at texting fast it wouldn't be a problem, and your right, the screen size would be the main issue for me, now a tablet is the happy medium, bigger than a phone, and they run most of the same phone apps, that would be my choice if I had to pick between the two.

I am currently trying to manage work using only my smartphone and a tablet that I can connect a bluetooth keyboard with since my PC is currently not with me for a few weeks. Its a bit tough but I do get quite a lot of work done.

Yes I can, but the type of work would be restricted. I prefer doing certain jobs on my phone rather than on PC. So it ultimately depends on the job description.

I particularly can not work using just my mobile phone. I believe that many things can be done through the mobile phone, but it also has many things that are almost impossible to do using only a mobile phone.

For me, writing articles, sharing on social networks, scaling images, are daily tasks and I can only do them with my laptop, with the mobile phone I can not have much agility in these tasks.

Hi Ideal so, you can manage some orders on there, update people, copy and paste, even write articles, etc. You can do more than that if you get more involved in online work. Congratulation on taking a new PC.
Well, I have two PC in my house, one is mine and one is owned by my son, as you can imagine I always had a functional PC in my house.
I'm using my phone only when I am traveling, but I cannot compare it with my PC!

When you say working on the phone, it means to me that you will be using it for writing articles. I don't think I can do that because I have great difficulty in typing with the virtual keyboard. Most of the times, I get a wrong letter that I had to delete and rewrite. It's good that my Samsung has an auto suggest for words but it's not effective all the time. I still prefer the good old keyboard of the computer, whether desktop of laptop. Another thing, the phone is giving me a headache when I am typing maybe because of the small fonts in the small screen.

As a rule, I do not use my mobile phone to do any work. Except to check my emails on the go. I work best in front of my laptop in my comfortable work space. I get distracted by noise, sound and movement. So for me, the idea of working from a mobile is not suitable. And the screen is so smallTrying to work on your mobile phone only - can you do it?

I use my phone mainly for e-mails ,calls and messages. At work, I have a desktop with a computer monitor. I do not resort to using my mobile phone when I travel as I have a tablet for that. My mobile's screen is too small for my preference.

I don't really use my mobile phone to work. I work on my PC only and can't really type that fast without my keyboard. I tend to make lots of typing errors when I use my phone. There are some sites which take so long to load on my mobile. My eyes tend to get tired if I spend too much time on my phone. I think it is because of the small screen. I find it more convenient to work on the PC/laptop compared to a mobile.

I think I'd be wasting a lot of precious time by using my smartphone for even the most basic task as posting a message. I've tried that once but I had to sacrifice posting quality/quantity. I always have at least 15 open tabs on my browser when I'm writing an article and I often copy-paste from a website to MS. Word or Excel. Moving from tab to tab and and copy-pasting content would be tough without a mouse. Additionally, I would have to sacrifice typing speed which is one of my advantages when I'm using a regular keyboard.

A yes or no answer will seem really undermining to your question. Once I saw a thread with a topic asking if mobile usability has overthrown that of PC's. I simply responded yes, a walk in public can ascertain my stand on the topic. However, yours requires a detailed answer.

Depending on what you personally mean by "work done". Social media basics can be executed without a PC as with other minor online offers and tasks. A PC comes to play when doing jobs or work outside the box of basics and minors as i stated a sentence ago.

To me? Yes. Mobile phone has been the device I have been using since I started working online. I learned how to adjust and now I am used to it. I prefer working with a smartphone compared to laptop or desktop .
