What is the difference between PPC and Organic rankings?

When it comes to websites there are a few ways to get traffic to your website and I'm going to cover 2 of them. The two I'll be covering are PPC and Organic rankings which can both be very powerful when it comes to making sales on your website. Both have their own benefits and draw backs, which I'll cover in the following paragraphs What is the difference between PPC and Organic rankings?

What are rankings?
When your website is listed anywhere in the search engines these would be considered your "rankings". You can have organic and paid rankings which both can bring in traffic but have different timelines on how quickly they do. When you hear the phrase "Search Engine Optimization" or "SEO" it's usually regarded as one of the best ways to increase your rankings over time and pull in loads of super targeted traffic from the search engines. SEO can be good and bad so be sure to do it right or hire someone or a company to do it for you so you don't get any penalties.

Organic Rankings
This type of rankings are when you're naturally, or organically, ranked in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) without paying for your rankings like on a PPC platform such as Adwords or Bing Ads. Now you're not paying for your rankings through any PPC platform but that doesn't mean you can just set up a website and it will naturally be ranked without a push in the right direction. It always take some backlinking and you can easily do that by finding the best of the best freelancers here on SEOclerks.com What is the difference between PPC and Organic rankings?

Paid Rankings
When it comes to paid rankings you're going to be dabbling in the PPC area of the search engines. All of the big search engines have good PPC campaigns. Google has the Adwords paltform while Bing and Yahoo! both have Bing Ads. Each platform is amazing since you can get instant traffic after your ads are approved, but one is held in a higher regard due to it's market share, which is Adwords. When you set up an ad and it's approved on both Adwords and Bing Ads you will then be placed in the ad sections of the search engines which could put you right above the SERPs or to the right of them. These don't help you when it comes to organic rankings, like some people think, but if you have the funding you will be able to stay at the top forever What is the difference between PPC and Organic rankings?

Which is better?
When it comes to Organic rankings and Paid rankings it's hard to consider one better than the other because they're both pretty great. Organic rankings are free after you're ranked and you could be making a lot of money from the free traffic the search engines are sending you. The downside of organic rankings is that you have to stay on top of your SEO and backlinking in order to stay on top of your competition. Paid rankings are amazing because you can be placed right at the top of the rankings without having to do any SEO at all. If you've every done SEO then you know it will take a while to be ranked, and that's why a lot of people start off with PPC over SEO when they have a new website.

In Conclusion:
Organic rankings and Paid rankings are vastly different but have the same goal of getting your website traffic. One isn't better than the other except if you have a brand new website in which you'll probably opt for paid rankings instead of organic since this way will bring in quick traffic while your SEO game plan is in action What is the difference between PPC and Organic rankings?

The one thing both SEO and PPC have in common is that they are not a “set it and forget it” type of marketing. To make the most of these campaigns, you have to monitor them and continually make improvements because Google and other search engines regularly make changes to their algorithm and pay-per-click settings.

Ideally one would pray for Organic rankings. Why pay for what you can get free? But you need good SEO for organic rankings. Whereas, Paid rankings certainly do have the advantages that you mentioned of being “placed right at the top of the rankings without having to do any SEO at all “.

RE Bing Ads: Bing and YAHOO! have joined forces. But even working together, if comparing to Google AdWords, I would say do your PPC with Google. Why? Google often eMails webmasters a coupon for $50 to get started. Have you ever received one? I have!

PPC or pay-per-click scheme of advertising is beneficial to owners of small sites particularly those with business like affiliate marketing. But for blogs that have a good amount of regular readers are satisfied with the traffic that they are steadfast with the organic traffic that they get. Take note that PPC needs a budget for as low as $5 in a day and it is effective according to some users.
