Hello Tommy Matalino,
Duplicate content is content that appears in more than one place. When there are multiple pieces of identical content, it is difficult for search engines to decide which version is more relevant to a given search query. If you rewrite the whole article and just use an article for inspiration, it would not be considered duplicate content.

I remember when I submitted an article in an article market, one article was rejected because of duplicate content. I had erroneously included a description of a place which was taken from another website. It’s not even a sentence but just a phrase that is unique. I think the duplicate checkers are advanced and good that you have to rewrite an article using your own words. Never lift a sentence for your convenience because it will be spotted.
