Since 2014, HTTPS has officially become a ranking factor and I recently read that Google Chrome will start marking sites without a SSL certificate as insecure. You can read more about SSL as a ranking factor here. As a result, I recently added SSL to my websites. Do you think that SSL will become an important ranking factor in 2017?
Since you can get free SSL certificate these days from websites like Lets Encrypt, it has become so much easier to get a SSL certificate and that means there is no reason not to get one. What are your thoughts about this matter?

I agree with what IdealMike has said a few times on this forum, it seems to me that an SSL certificate just gives a false sense of security. Scammers can even get an SSL certificate for their scam websites. I think it just gives people that don't understand exactly what it is a false sense of security. I'm not so sure it will be a massive ranking factor, but it will play a role yes. I haven't yet moved my websites over to SSL.
