I would expect to see more emphasis put on video marketing and video content creation. 2016 has been called "The year of video" and as the technology is increasing and more video is being viewed and watched compared to written content and other forms of content and media. I would expect video marketing will increase exponentially and a lot of SEO methods, tactics and techniques being based on video.
Also as more emphasis has been on doing SEO for mobile users along with quality content and voice search combined with Artificial Intelligence. All combined in with AMP pages and mobile apps SEO including micro formats and local SEO and social media influence.
Onpage SEO trends by some of the most trending now with increased climb into 2017 would be things like

Microsoft has Skype and LinkedIn on its sleeve and I'm curious what other moves they'le make to remain relevant in this battle. I think 2017 will be a turning point in the battle for the internet boss title. Sure right now Google has the upper hand, but Facebook is not far behind and I'm sure it will surprise everyone making a move both on video to combat Youtube but also improve on their internal search to keep people away from Google Search on certain things.
