Everytime I'm setting up a website I always think of how I'm going to optimize it and what I will use in order to optimize it. Will I do everything by hand or will I have some specific plugins to help lead me through the process, and the Google XML Sitemaps plugin is one of those that I always choose to help with my website or blog
As most of you know, a sitemap can help the search engine spiders crawl through your pages because the sitemap consists of links to all of your pages. If you use the Google XML Sitemaps plugin you will be able to automatically generate your sitemap and auto update it whenever you add a new blog post or page to your website. I've seen people make a specific /sitemap.html page and manually updated it whenever they add a new post or page, and that gets extremely tedious if you have a big website with a lot of content With the Google XML Sitemaps plugin you don't have to worry about adding anything to your sitemap since it will be added for you after you make your post or page go live
This plugin is one of the most downloaded and review plugins in the wordpress directory, and the main reason is because it works well.

Ok at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot... you need to update your sitemap? I thought I just had to submit a sitemap to Google and it was like done.
I can't remember how I did mine. I think my SEO Allinone plugin had a sitemap section to it. Now I feel just stupid?
So what is the difference in submitting a sitemap from AllinOne SEO plugin or Yoast plugin compared to the Google XML sitemaps plugin? Oh. Hmmm.
