Being Lazy! - A Freelancers worst enemy. - What are you doing?

Being Lazy = Don't Give Me Your Money!
Being Lazy! - A Freelancers worst enemy. - What are you doing?

Are you satisfied with where you are today?

Let me tell you something most of you already know. I am not. I'm not where I want to be..

I don't make the amounts of money I would like to make.. But, I don't do it because I'm lazy, which would or could be one of the reasons. - I haven't reached the goals I'm striving for due to the amount of time it takes me to get there.

What I've been trying to do, is to find a few "shortcuts" to get there quickly. - However, shortcuts are usually not the best way to go. As shortcuts often tends to be more time consuming in the end. - I know that. Do you?

What I've done:
- I've tried to do everything myself.
- I've tried to reduce the amount of time I sleep to enable more work hours.
- I've tried to find reliable people to work with.

This is three things I've been doing so far..

What have you done?
And what's your reason (or excuse) for not doing more?

Best Regards,

I don't have enough TIME. It drives me crazy because I have lists of things I want to get to and I just can't get there. It is frustrating beyond belief. I have even considered putting my kids in day care full day come 2017 so I can achieve some goals.... but then decided not to.

I don't want my poor kids sitting in child care till 5pm every day, that is why I closed my online store in the first place and started blogging.

Things are starting to come right for me now though and I am hoping in 2017 I will be able to earn more and work a bit less.

I am glad you took this decision Lynne. Your kids should always be put first. In time, when they grow a bit older you will see that you will be able to have so much more time at your disposal. I am sure that you do not regret your decision because after all kids only remain kids for a few years. They grow up so quickly! Money is important but it is not nearly as important as parenting and quality time with kids, especially when they are still young.

Time is the main problem for me. I need to have several more hours every day to keep up with the work I have. However I cannot afford to work more than I am working because I already get quite tired and often stressed out as it is. I feel that the best solution is to handle what you can handle, and even though you are not going to earn all the money you wish for, you would at least be taking care of yourself, your health, and also devoting enough time for your family, chores and other personal commitments. Money is after all not everything!

sadly, I am prone to laziness. Two days ago, I asked my regular client if there are nay jobs available for me. He sent four assignments. However, due to my laziness I dillydallied and now the deadline is right at the corner and I have yet to complete two assignments. Since this is my regular client, he will not fire me because I submitted late. However, if I do same thing to a new client I may lose jobs. Therefore, laziness is very bad for freelancers.

I've seen some freelancers have that character of laziness and that is one attitude that I don' like. I mean that it is not cool to work with someone that is not ready to take his/her work seriously. I've had a chance to outsource work to one and the return was not what I expected. So, I cut him off my link.

I'm used to working long hours and I've never made freelancing an excuse to slack off. What I actually need is more time to do all the things that I want to do every single day. Who wants to say no to money? As much as possible, I'd take all opportunities to work and earn money because they may not always be there. I choose to work continuously because I want to provide for days when online work is scarce. The days before and after Christmas are typically slow days for earning and I use these days to explore other opportunities, to develop useful skills that might be useful in the future, or to take a much needed break.

I have been using my spare time and school breaks to write more. I have reduced the time I spent during lunch hour chatting so I can write few things. I don't have excuses for not doing something since I am utilizing whatever I have at the present time.

If there's anything that keeps one from attaining ones goal that's laziness. one wouldn't make much and it will keep one backward. I try to work any time I'm.chanced, I reduce my chatting and sleeping hours and try to finish my work before resting. it goes a long way to help me achieve much.

I am definitely not lazy. However, sometimes I am facing an issue of procrastination. It seems like my mind is at rest and that I need something to start up my engine. But when I started using my computer, my mind easily adapts and working becomes natural. For lazy people, I don't recommend freelancing unless you have someone to guide and inspire you to work.
