Would you prefer long term or short term work?

I do understand that the title might be a little bit misleading but I couldn't really figure out a better one, so we'll stick with this one.

What I basically wonder is, would you like to work long term with one or perhaps two clients per month/year or would you prefer to work short term with several clients?

I do understand that most of the sellers on SEOClerks work short term in the sense that they offer a service and when the delivery has been made, the work is done. And they'll be off to the next order from a new client. But in all honesty, wouldn't you rather work with the same clients over and over instead of working with a new client several times per day/week?

Have you ever thought of mixing things up and try to establish a more long term relation with your clients? - In case you have, what did you do and how did it go?

I have several regular clients here, and I also get new orders, that is, one off ones as well. I must say that when you get used to delivering services to regular and loyal clients you have peace of mind as in time you sort of establish a relationship with them. I sometimes expect them and know beforehand what they have ordered as you get used to them, and it is pleasant. So I prefer it this way. Having said that, new clients always give you that thrill that they chose you out of all those sellers and you need to prove them right.

Nice point there, I think that having regular clients when you are a content writer would be much easier and nicer, since you get to know their websites and their niche. You know exactly what they want. I am sure new customers with content writing could potentially be a huge headache!

I prefer long term work if it's work that I like doing. But if it's not my cup of then I would prefer working for only a short time. It really depends on the kind of work involved.

I got very tired of delivering short-term services, I personally prefer very long term offers, something that offers me stability and I don't have to look for new clients every day.
Having long term clients and doing pretty much the same thing every day is great and can become easier as you get used to it also the financial part can be more beneficial because you have will have a constant stream of income. In comparison having multiple orders from different buyers can be tricky because you can have long periods of low rate of orders or even no order whatsoever.

I prefer a long term engagement because you're sure of job supply daily.you would be used to the nature of a long term engagement. You don't need to start bothering your self about your rating because for working this long with the client you must have been really good.So yes I will prefer a long term engagement.

I think both really have their benefits. I like working with people that I know and that know me. It makes everything so much easier when it comes to expectations and delivery.

But of course while having long term, regular customers is great it can also be too comfortable at times. I know how much it hurt when I had my online baby store and my best customer that placed a huge order every month decided to change her focus from baby clothing to maternity. It hurt my business big time and it was unexpected but I should not have gotten too comfortable.

New smaller orders may not be easy to do as long term orders but if you work hard at that you never know if some of those customers will turn into loyal, long term customers.

I believe a nice mix of both is what is in order. You can't rely on one or two long term big jobs!

I would, of course, choose long term works. When I have long term work, money will continuously come. If I have a choice, I will never choose short term work even if it may be good paying. The problem with short term work is you will have to again start looking for work once you have delivered your work. Looking for new contracts is very frustrating.

I prefer different things when it comes to short term and long term projects. If I'm doing client work like wedding videos or portrait photography, I want to do it short term. Get everything taken care of in a day or two and spend a week at max editing then have the product to the client and be paid for it. That would be ideal in most every situation I'm working with a stranger.

Long term projects make me think more of video jobs that I undertake on my own time, and may not give myself a profit necessarily. Short films, documentaries, video series or whatever that interests me, I wouldn't mind spending a good amount of time developing and creating. But I wouldn't want to work long term for someone else on a project necessarily. I feel like that would more stress than I would want in a job.

Sometimes long term work could be boring. More so repetitive work which doesn't use any brain power. There's also work which comes with a lot of pressure. Such work isn't healthy and could burn you up fast.

I would prefer having a long-term work and also getting it from a loyal client yo avoid issues on the way while delivering the duties. It is also good to demand short-term work once in awhile, but having a long-term work is going to keep you busy for that period as well as giving you the time to relax and work for those clients.

If the client is good in terms of compensation then I would prefer a long term work contract. Dealing with several clients is like multi tasking which can interfere with the quality of my work. I actually have a client who is like a friend such that I enjoyed doing his commissioned work. Unfortunately he ran out of funds for the moment.

If I'm going to pick a long term job, then that job would be sales or marketing work, anything involving travel and the outdoors. I hate office jobs because, being in a single place all the time.
