What kind of ROI should you expect with your marketing

Whenever I'm talking with a client I always hear (actually I read it) "How much money will I make after hiring you for my SEO?" And the accurate answer is "I have no clue!" but if I tell them that they will think I don't know what I'm talking about lol. I will usually say something along the lines of "Well it all depends on your website. It has to be optimized for your traffic so they know exactly what to do when they get on your pages. If your design is lacking any type of traffic funneling then you'll make much less money than you could. If your content isn't optimized to increase curiosity and close the sale before they even contact you, you won't make as much money. So we have to work on that first before we bring in the traffic. After that, the traffic should purchase from you without having to contact you. The amount of money you can make is undetermined because we don't know exactly how much traffic you will be getting."

After I tell them that, I'll go into some statistics like "If you are getting 1,000 uniques a day from Google you can expect at least 1% of them to purchase from you. Google will tell you that 5% or more will purchase from you, but that's just not true. So you're looking at 10+ sales a day and if each sale gets you $100 then you're making $1,000 a day." Now this scale isn't exactly accurate because each niche is different. An SEO niche could close at 10% but you'll make $10 per sale and a car niche could close at 1% and you'll make $2,000 per sale. It's a good way to estimate how much you'll make based on the amount of traffic you can get.

I like to use the above equation to set goals for myself. If I'm getting 1,000 uniques a day I should be getting a minimum of 10 sales a day. After a few months I can break down loads of data and get an accurate reading on how everything is converting and if I need to change anything on my pages What kind of ROI should you expect with your marketing

So in short, the ROI you should expect will vary depending on your niche. If you want a more accurate estimate on you niche you can PM me what it is and I'll see what I can come up with What kind of ROI should you expect with your marketing

"How much money will I make after hiring you for my SEO?" I don't think you have how to answer this question accurately. Yeah you can manage to rank a keyword or two on the first place, having experience you can estimate a time table for this. You can predict that you will bring him, let's say, 100 visitors per day but it is impossible to know how many of these 100 will actually click the order button and how many will complete an order.

Only after you get the traffic, wait for few months, watch the statistics maybe you will be able to be close to an approximation of how many will actually buy something.

Yes I totally agree with this. There are way too many variables that go into it.

Nice one Razzy. The problem is that I think not only is every niche unique but the niche may be awesome when the website is rubbish.

There are so many things that go into working out how much income a company will be making with spending a certain amount of money.

And the amount of money that needs to be spent can also vary a huge amount, take my example of a great niche with an awful website. The website will need to be upgraded first before any sales can be made.

I am starting to see now the more I invest in my website the more money it gives me. I am busy with getting some work and planning done and then I will be investing much more money into my websites soon.

I usually don't talk about ROI with my clients, because I simply don't care, seriously, I don't.

For example, let's say I'm creating and optimizing a website for an Ophthalmology Clinic and I find a good keyword that has around 1000 monthly searches, I research the competitors and I conclude I can place the client of 1st position in 1 or 2 months. I inform the client that even if we reach first place with that keyword the amount of total organic traffic coming from that keyword would be somewhere around 360 visits per month. I create content, I optimize, I create some authority and place the client on 1st position.

The client is now getting around 360 visits per month for that specific article. My job is done, how much the clinic actual converts in ROI from those visits is the client's problem and also the marketing department.

lol I wish I could be like that What kind of ROI should you expect with your marketing But every time I talk to a client they always want to know when they're going to be making money. I know they're worried about investing in SEO so I have to give them an estimate on what they can see and when it will start coming in. Now I'm not always accurate, and sometimes that's good because my estimate is too long and the profits start rolling in early What kind of ROI should you expect with your marketing

I agree everyone wants to know when they will make a return on the initial investment. If i told my clients "i have no idea when you will make any money", i would be out of business real quick. Bravo Christian let the clients know that your the one making the demands. I need to learn all of your techniques how much do you charge to learn? Razzy maybe we can discuss some kind of partnership?? What is the buy in on this kind of business and what is the ROI looking like? If you can drive this many people you could help anyone make money. Do you only focus on certain niches or do you have a broad talent that you provide? By the way awesome topic, i appreciate the information.

I don't set targets on the expectation I want whenever I start out a marketing campaign considering the fact that it is an unlimited way to get more clients coming up to patronize what we do at the firm. Setting targets is not the best way to go about this.

My first paid marketing did not earn me any ROI. I spend $35 to market my Amazon book. In order to recover that investment, I had to sell at least 20 books. If I manage to sell more than 20 books I would be making profits from my book marketing. sadly, I did not recover my investment. I was expecting that I would make 100 book sales and make at least $60 profit, but this did not happen.

My husband had been offered by a publisher to write a book. But instead of the usual publishing scheme, he wanted us to shoulder all the expenses and he would just help in the marketing. When we computed for the ROI of the investment with the initial 1,000 copies to be printed, we needed to sell at least half of that number in order to recoup the investment. And we understand that it’s not easy to sell books so more likely we still have to spend some more for the promotion of the book. We turned down the offer.

That is called partnership publication. The writer and publisher both spend on book publishing and marketing, once they recover the investment they begin to split profits. However, this scheme does not work always. It is really bad to ask the writer to finance his own book which he took a lot of pain to write. A rather easy way to profit from books is by publishing ebook.

As an affiliate I try to radically get ROI from the radical marketing I do daily, I set a target of 10 sales a day but if it should be a bad day then getting 5 sales shouldn't be difficult for me and I have been trying and it working in my favor. So my marketing is not in vain.
