There are hundreds of thousands of services here on SeoClerks and even more registered users who are buyers.
How can you stand out from the crowd and be successful?
Well what you may not want to hear is that it takes a bit of time to do this, but don't worry, there are some tricks you can do to speed up the process
Here are a few tips and tricks to be successful on SeoClerks
1. Be Truthful
Now this may be pretty common practice amongst great sellers, but not all do it. If you're going to need an extra day or two, let your buyer know and request an extension. If you're genuine, they will usually understand and your ratings won't suffer.
2. No False Claims
I understand that you want to guarantee first place rankings on Google, Yahoo! and Bing. But we all know you can't make that guarantee because you don't work for those companies. And if you respond to this with "Well I do work for Google!" I know you're a liar Also, don't tell your buyers that you work for the search engines and know a secret formula just so you can make a sale.
3. Over Deliver
You should make it a common practice to over deliver on all your services. I understand that some services like server maintenance, server set up, web design, and others like this can't really be over delivered. If you're offering something that you can do more than what is paid for, do it. You'll get a lot more positive reviews on your orders and that helps increase your sales in the long run.
4. Don't Alter Your Service
A lot of people will ask if they can get some additional stuff with their orders. Don't agree to this if you aren't good at it. I've seen plenty of people agree to do add on work at no extra charge but they don't know how to do it well. This usually turns out in a bad review even if you are just trying to help out.
5. Stay In Contact
Your client wants to know that everything is going well with their order. If the order is for something that only takes a day or two then you probably don't have to keep in touch. But if your service takes more than a week to complete, keep in touch with your buyer and give them updates every 5 days or so. They will love this and usually leave a positive review and order again and again
6. Purchase A Sponsored Listing
A lot of people who can get a sponsored listing up and running will notice a load of sales flooding in because they will be getting more views on their services. The sponsored listings are limited so this may not be an option all the time. If you're able to get a sponsored listing you need to have everything ready for the flood of sales. If you have a bad service and can't handle 100 orders at a time, don't pay for a sponsored listing.
7. Brand Yourself
This may sound odd, but you need to brand yourself on these types of marketplaces. If you don't use your name as your username then you're just going to be forgotten. Have you ever heard of Barry Siam? You probably have if you're browsing SeoClerks on a weekly basis. Barry uses his real name as his username and he does pretty much everything I've mentioned above. I actually could have named this discussion "Be Like Barry" and you still would have understood it lol.
8. Deliver on time or earlier
You need to get your work done within the timeline you set. Buyers see the time it takes to complete the service and if you're consistently over the timeline you will get a lot of bad reviews. You should always try to aim to get a service done at least a few days before the deadline. If you have a 30 day service and you can get it finished in 20, you'll probably get a happy client who will come back time and time again to purchase from you.
