Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

Today has not been a very productive day for me. And that's mainly because I've been having some computer problems with my PC. I have an PB Allinone touchscreen PC. Running on Win7, i3 CPU 4GB RAM. So I'm really due an upgrade anyway!

My PC has been giving me play up problems for a while. Usually when I boot it up in the mornings. Been getting hangs (locking up). BSOD's and strange post beeps! I think there's either a ghost in the shell or I have some technical fault happening somewhere.

Of course, Windows being Windows (Just another pain in the glass). It could either be a hardware or a software fault that's been causing it. Today was particularly bad though. It just didn't want to boot up. Just showing black screen but fans whirring away like the engines in an F16 Fighter Jet.

I did purchase a fairly new stick of RAM for it a few months ago (used) so figured it could be that so pulled it out like a bad tooth and the beast was running fine after that although admittedly a little slower running than I would like and had grown used to!

So I'm only running on 2GB atm and really noticing it. After pulling that sucker out I proceeded to start working on some clients orders and really started noticing how slow loading things were which was really slowing me down compared to the pace I normally work out.

So I took a mosey into town to check out this used PC shop and see if they had any RAM in I could get that was right for my PC (Right DIMM etc and all that malarkey). I explained to the guy what was happening with my PC and he proceeded to tell me in about a thousand words what I already just told him and already knew anyway. He was saying that when it comes to RAM it's either going to work or it's not. That hangs could be caused by the OS itself, an app or something and a reformat would probably sort it out. Which is what I said to him at the start but I was like okay mate yeah but I'll probably just buy this 4GB stick (he had one there for sale for £8) and hopefully that will be the end of it for a while as I'm going to get a new computer soon anyway.

Anyway, I got it home and proceeded to try it out in my PC. I've removed all the RAM sticks and put this one into slot 1 which would have meant having 4GB of RAM again.

But on booting up my PC, I get nothing. Just a blank black screen. Similar to what I was seeing earlier on in the day before I even got this extra RAM stick.

So I took the sucker out and just put my old 2GB stick back in and am currently running on just 2GB which makes me feel like I'm using a computer from the early 90's or something.

Anyway! It got me thinking. What if my PC really broke and didn't boot and had to be slung away? How would I do my work? I don't have a laptop either. Haven't had a laptop for about 2 years now. I'm due an upgrade to one of them too but I don't want to get a "fairly good laptop" I want to get a "really good laptop" Something with at least 8-16GB and SSD drive etc but they're still a bit pricey atm and can live without it.

I can do most of my work quite easily on my desktop though and I think you can do things faster on a desktop than you can a laptop. But what if I never had any and only had my phone (Apple smartphone)?

If I had to, if I was forced to, I would probably find a way to do my work that I need to do for my clients actually on my phone. Some things might be tricky but I'd probably learn a way to do it and do the same things on it that I could my desktop PC.

What about you? If you never had your PC/laptop and was forced to use your phone (Smartphone) to do all the same work you do on your desktop/laptop, would you be able to do it? Would you find a way to do it?

I'm thinking, I might try learning how to do stuff that I do on here (my desktop) on my phone. At the end of the day if I can and don't really need a PC/laptop it makes sense. I'll probably be saving a bit in energy (electric) costs per year and wouldn't have to go through all the hassle and rigmarole of upgrading my PC!

Could you live without yours and do your work on your phone only?

If you had to that is. Would you find a way?

Or would it simply not be possible without your laptop/desktop PC?

Just wondered! Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

BSOD's and strange post beeps!

Oh shit, be careful man. I had a friend who was having problems and she would get the blue screen of death with some odd beeps. I started to fix her computer and could barely get past the BSOD. After I did some research on the beeps I quickly found out that her mother board pretty much fried itself and to fix it would cost more than buying a brand new laptop. Her laptop was about 6 years old and needed to be upgraded anyway, but getting the dreaded BSOD is never fun when you have stuff to do right then. She was still in school and needed to do some papers, and I'm not talking about jr. high or high school, she was doing post grad stuff lol Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

As for your computer, it sounds like you definitely need an upgrade Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only? I do too so it looks like we're in the same boat. My laptop isn't what it use to be even though it was a good one. Right now I need to clean the vents because it overheats if I have it on for more than an hour. I do have a pretty nice cooling fan installed because of the overheating problem, which seems to help a lot. But I don't want to rely on small upgrades that will eventually cost as much as a nice laptop :'( I'm looking to get a nice gaming laptop just to use for work purposes. My friend put on together for $750 and that thing is an absolute beast. He was going to sell it to me for $250 but I didn't need a laptop at the time... I should have just bought it because it was an amazing deal Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

As for working solely from my phone to get all my orders, support tickets, and general work done... I think I'd go insane pretty quick if I had to lol Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

Could you live without yours and do your work on your phone only?
No way lol. It's just not possible for me unless I just used my phone to contact people to cover my work. My VAs and partners would have a nice work load coming their way and I'd have much less profits because of having to work from my phone Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

If you had to that is. Would you find a way?
Where there's a will there's a way!!!! Right?!?!?! I would have to rely on my connections to help me out. I would definitely need to go out and purchase a cheap laptop at the local tech shop or computer store to hold me over while my new computer was on it's way. I don't think I'd survive working solely from my phone Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

Or would it simply not be possible without your laptop/desktop PC?
I don't think it would be possible Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only?

It would be almost impossible for me to write articles on my smartphone. Imagine how long it would take me to type. If I was forced to do it I would consider my tablet, although even that would be time consuming as I am not a fast typist on a tablet screen either. So to be on the safe side I have a spare laptop, just in case.

Yes same here! I work on my laptop and I also have a desktop available and if both of those bomb out I can still use my husband's laptop Would you be able to work on your mobile phone only? And if that fails I will literally have to go and buy another machine or my business will come to a complete standstill!

No. Not really, mobile hasn't evolved enough.

If you had to that is. Would you find a way?

I think the only way you can work only from your mobile phone is outsourcing all the work you have to do. I sometimes do this, outsourcing stuff right off my mobile when I know I'm not going to be able to reach a desktop and deliver the order in useful time.

Work with my phone only? You got to be absolutely insane? No, not a chance I could get my work done with my phone.

For starters I hate my phone. I have only recently upgraded from one of those really old Nokia phones that could barely connect to the internet. I couldn't even download Whatsapp to my phone LOL.

I got a Smartphone because my kids playschool communicates mostly via Whatsapp groups... and my phone started to echo but this was on the other person's side so they complained but I was happyas could be with my phone.

So anyway I don't like using my smartphone, it is so small and annoying that I don't even like writing a text on it. Imagine I had to write a 1000+ word post? I would also not be able to function Wordpress and even if I could I wouldn't want to!

It would be possible for sure, but I would never do it. I do tiny tasks on my phone, when I travel for instance. On the train from Norrköping to Stockholm etc. That's about 2 hours of work or "work-related" things I can do using my phone. Small, tiny tasks. Reading emails. Answer a few emails. Study something. Read something. Things like that. My main business is brand building and I would never in my life do that on my phone alone. Not a chance. I'd rather quit my business.

Things that takes me 15 minutes on my computer would take me 1 hour, perhaps even more than that, if I did the same thing using my phone. It wouldn't be worth it.

As a content provider for forums, I can work using my phone but only for some forums that are easy for me and that I can make shorter posts. There are forums that require long posts and it’s difficult to do that when using the phone. My problem is the typing because the virtual keyboard on the phone is not that easy to use. Of course, I can write even an article on my phone but the speed is the problem. And the slower I type, the harder it is for me because I get a a lag on my thoughts that I sometimes lose the idea when my typing is slow.

If I would work on my current work at https://www.glassstructureslimited...lass-extensions/ - definitely not. I'm not even sure robots will be able to remove us from our jobs in this industry. But what about SEO (I know about it a little bit), I'm also sure it's hard to implement. The phone doesn't offer you so many opportunities and it doesn't save your time.
