Free Bumps for Adding Community Discussions? Q

I love the fact that SeoClerks is so supportive of its sellers and helps them to get their services out there as much as possible.

I love the fact that members are encouraged to add to the community discussions by getting free bumps for their services. This is such an amazing opportunity!

At this moment in time I am only a buyer here and I have only ever been a buyer. I come to the community discussions to learn how to be a better online marketer and to interact with people in this community.

The only thing that makes me a bit sad is when I see poor quality discussions added and I wonder if these are added purely to get free bumps, without a care about whether this affects the community discussions?

For me I don't like checking out a new discussion only to find I can't even read it for the poor grammar and lack of punctuation. I can't even understand what the question is about.

This might gain a free bump but when I see things like this I think the person does not care about the quality of his or her work or reputation, since if this is what is out there then will the same care or rather lack thereof be given to my website and my work?

Just my thoughts...

I would say that more than 50% of the FAQ's are to get the bumps. It's quite easy to tell actually.. And I knew that this would happen sooner or later. It's a shame. Some people don't see the whole picture. They do things because they're selfish and they think about one thing alone. Money.

Feel free to read my reply in this thread:

It's actually a bit funny to me, that they've never thought about sharing for other rewards than the bumps.. But that's because I'm not like these people. I'm unique. I'm me. - I would participate and I would create FAQ's to spread my wings. To build myself reputation and to increase my credibility. That's what I would do, because I do things long run.. No matter how desperate I am looking for money.

Yes Andre there are a few people that will do things for the right reasons and then you will get people that will just try and get a free ride wherever they can.

I missed that discussion... or maybe it came about while I was sleeping. I will go and have a look Free Bumps for Adding Community Discussions? Q

I've noticed the same thing.

People will just post a quick question that they pulled from someone elses discussion and post it as their own. They'll alter it slightly so that it's unique, but you can usually tell it's a copy.

Another thing that really annoys me is when I pick apart their question because of the bad grammar (not sure if it's bad grammar or English isn't their first language) and I go through it to explain everything I can and the person doesn't even come back to comment on what I posted. Some of my posts take 20 to 30 minutes and after I comment I realize this guy or girl only posted to get a bump.

Is there any way to restrict this kind of abuse to the free bump system? I understand that if they person keeps posting 1 sentence questions with bad grammar and they start getting denied or ghosted, the original poster will get very annoyed. But the fact that they're only doing it to get a free bump is just hurting the Community Discussion.

I take pride in my posts and when I see someone abusing a system it annoys me. I'm not even a seller here on SeoClerks so I don't need any free bumps, I just like helping others out. So when I post a response to someone, I try to help as much as possible. When I started I wish I had found something like the SeoClerks Community Discussions section, it would have saved me countless hours and headaches lol Free Bumps for Adding Community Discussions? Well I just can't be bothered to even reply anymore simply because it takes me too long to even figure out WTF the person is trying to say. It is pointless because I don't think those people are even looking for answers, it is just for a free bump.

The results are that either people get their time and energy wasted on it, or alternatively we don't respond which looks terrible as it looks like as a community we don't care about assisting people which is just plain not the case at all is it?

totally agree with you on that one!

some people post questions which you can find on google in less then 1 second and usually common knowledge. while others start decent topics. - which then others "re-start" that topic pretending its their own.

shame it wasnt a forum that was heavily regulated then the topics can just be merged.
