Let's have chat about Google Duo

So get this: Google wants to re-invent the video call.
Kinda late to the party right?

Well, probably no, it's Google we're talking about here after all. If any company can innovate and develop better technologies and services, Google can.

So Google Duo is now available for both Android and iOS devices worldwide. Apparently is pretty simple to use and very light weight making it fast and stable for one-to-one calls. I would like to also see similar technology for a conference video chat but I'm sure they'll develop that in the future.

Thanks for making me aware of this Cristian. I'm just wondering whether anyone will bother using it what with Whatsapp and Skype having such a firm hold already?

I will be very interested in your findings.

Hi Christian, Google Duo looks like a cool calling app and I am sure it will work as stated.

I am not sure if I like the knock knock function, "which lets you see live video of your caller before you answer, giving you a sense of what they’re up to and why they want to chat."

I guess people will have to be careful not to make calls to family, friends or clients while standing in a towel after getting out of the shower or even worse! Lol! Let

I wonder how many people will make the mistake of flashing people with unintentional graphic "knock knock" pre-call videos? Hopefully they have a feature that turns this off. Thinking about it, I can foresee Knock Knock pre-call horror shows occurring both intentionally and unintentionally. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Let

I have downloaded and used Google Duo. I think it came pre-installed on my new phone. I tried to have chat with one of my friend. I found the quality of the video really good. You can see that the videos also look good comparison to the Skype. You can see that some of the features of the duo are pretty common with whatsapp and skype. I guess I won't be switching to the duo. I'll take a look at the google duo from there onwards. I guess we have to look at how things go there onwards.
