So you've got your domain, hosting, theme and all that good stuff set up and ready to go. Now you're going to be a super successful blogger in the matter of 72 hours... WRONG! Blogging isn't an over night type of thing, you'll need to be dedicated in order to make some money from it. Below I've posted the top 5 things you should do in order to create a popular blog within you niche.
5 Things To Follow In Order To Have A Successful Blog
What Are Your Intentions?
Are your intentions to be super successful and well known online in your niche like you're the lady gaga of blogging? Well you might want to think this over a bit more because it's just as hard, if not harder, to become famous or well known through blogging than it is in the acting or singing trades. If you're not committed, you won't make it long.
You Need A Schedule
Do you plan to post once a day, a couple times a week, or once a month? You'll need to figure this out prior to launch because your readers will fall into a routine of checking for new content on your blog. If your readers can't predict when you're pushing new content, you will have speratic readers and lose traffic over time. Also, the more unique content you have, the better it is for the Search Engines.
Don't try to be perfect. Just show progress.
You won't be the most amazing blogger right at the start. It takes time to learn what to do and what not to do when posting a new page to your blog. Read a few books on how to blog and do a lot of testing with plugins and add-ons to see what makes your blogging a better experience.
You Need Marketing
Now when I say you'll need to do marketing, you'll be marketing yourself and your blog. You should already have all your social profiles set up just to hold your blogs name on those platforms whether you plan on posting or not. The thing is that now you need to pick 2 or 3 of these platforms to post to. Twitter and Facebook are still pretty big for this part of your marketing because a lot of people can read a short bit of content and click through if they want. Post to these platforms daily and respond to any comments from users.
Be Yourself
Don't change who you are just to increase your visitor count. This will inevitably come back to bit you in the a$$ since the people you're gaining want to see the false you and not who you really are. Post in your own voice so that the readers who do stick with you, will stay with you.

Also, I don't agree on the being yourself part. What if you being yourself sucks? You'll just be wasting a lot of time wanting to get successful, doing all the right things, only to find that you also need some charisma to be a blogger.

I have had a few people start blogging and they contact me and tell me they are so frustrated because they have been working really hard and been so diligent but they can't see results... I ask how long they have been blogging and how many posts they have published.
The answer that made me giggle the most was a woman had been blogging for 2 weeks and published posts... oh dear!
Yes it take a huge amount of work and dedication to be a successful blogger. I have been blogging for 4 years now and I have worked my ass off on 3 websites. It has all been worth it and it is coming together nicely now but it has not been easy at all. Thanks Razzy for sharing these things! As a blogger I started laughing when you said you won't become a successful blogger within 72 hours!
