In the past I've done some basic flyer advertising for my friends companies because I had some free time so I decided to help them out. By doing this, it got me thinking of how I could generate leads for my own company by putting out flyers.
After a bit of back and forth with my designer we eventually had a good design. I didn't go with flyers because they just look cheap, in my honest opinion. I went with high quality door hangers and paid a little more for them. If I remember correctly I paid my designer $25 to put together the front and back of the door hangers and another $250 for 1,000 of them through a printing company. I'm sure if you went through a company like vistaprint it would cost at least twice what I paid for them
I got them pretty quick, I think it took 10 days to print and ship them to me, which is pretty quick. They came in packs of 100 and I loved that because when I was passing them out I could pace myself based on how many packages I opened.
So now I have a massive amount of door hangers, but where do I put them? On business doors! I avoided houses like the plague because I'm selling a service that is specific to website owners. And who usually owns a website? A business owner Me and my partner went out after 9pm because we wanted to get these out so people could see them when they got into work. And not just anyone would see them, the person who has the keys to open the doors to the business (the decision maker) would see it first.
We spent around 16 hours putting out all of the door hangers. We went out on Tuesday night and Wednesday night and put out 500 each night all around where we lived. We targeted the nicer towns with bigger shopping centers where there weren't many franchises. After we got them all out, we had to wait by the phone for some calls.
It was a week before I got any calls And I only got 1 call of someone wanting to sign up
But there is a bright side to this! The company that signed up was willing to pay my company just under $2,000 a month They wouldn't sign a 1 year contract with us because they had been burned by a different SEO and Marketing company, so they were weary of the work that was going to be done. But I still made $6,000 off of a $275 investment
You can easily make money, you just have to think outside of the box and be willing to put in the time to do so. I spent around 20 hours on this between the design of the door hangers and the actual walking around putting them out.
Not a bad ROI right
Now get out there and make some money

But what is the deal with the phone call? Did clients needed to call you first to signup? Wasn't the website address published in the flyers so maybe they can check out everything by themselves?
People nowadays will first check the online website and only then maybe they'll make a call of absolutely necessary.
This reminds me of affiliate earnings here on SC. I only got 7 members to signup and only 2 of them actually both services, a total worth of 253 bucks...not too bad for only 2 affiliates.
Yeah so you never know when you can struck gold, this is why its hugely important to keep advertising. Razzy 6000 bucks from an ordinal 275 investment is a hell of an ROI!
