Now I’m more convinced than ever that Facebook it’s really something more than a big ‘social network’, after their big project called ‘Aquila’ which really was amazing, I’ve said and I’ll keep saying there’s nothing impossible for Facebook. Apparently now they have created a big hardware lab called ‘Area 404’ which will be used to build their own gadgets, isn’t cool? Hardware lab is located on California and it is 2000m2 square meters and has some big machines on it. Also, even CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg it’s not allowed to enter there for security reasons.
Mark Zuckerberg's status on Facebook :
The new lab is the size of half a football field and is filled with everything from a 5-axis water jet that can cut through steel and granite to a 9-axis mill-turn lathe. It's even got an electron microscope and a CT scanner that will let engineers examine components for failure analysis. All this gear was so heavy that we had to remove the floor of the building and drill down to the bedrock to put in new foundation.

It's crazy that only a few people that now work for facebook can have access to certain areas, and that doesn't even include Zuckerburg lol. It has to feel a littl weird that you buy an enormous warehouse for cutting edge Research and Development but you can't access some of it haha I was reading about this a few days ago :D It's crazy that only a few people that now work for facebook can have access to certain areas, and that doesn't even include Zuckerburg lol.
