Just a smarter way to advertise

Kids, children, even pre teens at times ... if you can gain the kids' attention, you can gain the parents. What happens when you're with your family at the store and your son or daughter runs across something they feel they can't live without; mom or dad usually ends up giving it attention also. Taking advantage of this little known common knowledge can really expand an operation if managed correctly. Imagine how many more people you will be reaching out too . This is an example but different audiences connect others all the time. Keep that in mind next time

This type of marketing has been going on for years. Have you ever seen a cereal commercial targeting adults? Not too many Just a smarter way to advertise The only cereal commercials that target adults are the companies that are trying to push healthy cereals that taste horrible, usually. I'd say that 90% of the cereal commercials on TV today are targeting children because they know that if the commercial is catchy, the kids will want it. The parents know the cereal is horrible for their kids because it's loaded with sugar, but saying No to your children in the middle of an isle when they give you the puppy dog eyes rarely happens. When my little girl asks for certain things like foods and toys it's mainly because they've seen them on TV. I've broken in and bought her pointless toys and foods because of how she acts when shes asks. She won't have a tantrum, she'll be extremely polite and give me the puppy dog eyes which are impossible for me to say no to lol Just a smarter way to advertise

I've seen loads of toys on TV that obviously are targeting kids. But have you ever noticed when they are airing? They rarely air when the kids are in school because they kids won't see them and then ask all the time for that specific toy when they're at the store lol. These companies are doing their research and over the years they've fine tuned it. In the end, if you have a product for a specific demographic and you want to advertise on TV, you'll need to find out when that demographic will be sitting down watching.

I've actually checked the pricing of commercials in the US and during the day, when people are at work and school, it's much cheaper. It's cheaper because not as many people are watching. Now when you get around 4pm to 8pm it's much more since people are sitting down for dinner and a lot of families in the US now sit in front of a TV when eating. Make sense?

Nothing like sitting down to your dinner at the coffee table in front of the television, and the meal being something that was advertised to you via the television yesterday. Now, I despise advertisements. I probably have every adblocker and method of blocking known to man. I hate ads so much I mute the TV when one comes on, or pay Pandora not to listen to the ads.. ugh.

Now, if I ever have kids.. I would probably ruin their childhoods because they won't get the next Tickle Me Elmo 2.0 or whatever it is that will be the next cool thing for kids.. oh well. Now if they advertised something on television that was actually healthy for them to eat, I wouldn't mind. At least they are interested in their health at such a young age.. right? But with all the kids food advertised on TV most of it is junk, and contains a lot of sugar. It's gross.

Yes, I have noticed that there are many products that are used by mothers, such as washing liquids, detergents, and also, insurance products and tax services, which are advertised on a channel that is solely intended for animated series and cartoons. I used to find it silly as kids do not understand much about this stuff, but then I thought that after all most parents are in the same room as the kids, watching what is being aired even if they are cooking or doing something else. So it is a subtle way of getting their attention too.

you know its true this is some old school advertising but other then the TV how has this type of marketing really been branched out on other platforms, see what i am trying to say is we can take this concept mold it and scatter it out, see its ideas like this that are game changers, and everyone running a good business knows you a business is nothing without good marketing and advertisement and for those of who are not making commercials its up to us to find new and creative ways to really reach out and get our brands across

That was a very interesting point to make. Since I have children I know what you mean from first hand experience. Kids are easily drawn to a product/promo. I have had them quietly watching TV and then when ads are aired, they start shouting out because they get excited about something that is being advertised and they really want it. However even though as a parent you cannot help but checking it out, I believe most parents then try to find a way out of having to buy it. At least that is what I do most of the time.

Oh yes, as a mom that has to shop with a 2 year old and a 4 year old I can say that advertisers do most definitely target kids. I am constantly told by them what I should be buying while we are in the shop and it drives me crazy. My 4 year old daughter even sing songs some of the advert tunes when she sees a product on the shelf!

well you got to love kids, you know i have a couple of my own also and i too go through similar experiances with mines you know being out with the family your bound to come across all types of fun and interesting things but cooperate plays it smart because it is not meant to be interesting for us actually we do not even pay mind half the time too these things but when my daughter comes to me running with her eyes all lit up you know "daddy daddy" what ever it is immediately draws all of my attention

This is simply a smart way to advertise for I also used to disturb mom on things to buy for me while we are out shopping as a result of the subtle advertisements that I have watched on TV back in the days and mom in most of those cases always yield to my request. It is one style of advertisement that I'm not seeing online marketers taking advantage of yet.

I agree that one of the best ways of getting good reactions to your advertisement is to target the younger generation, that is the children and the teenagers. We were in Seoul, South Korea earlier this month and we visited the Lotte Young Plaza just for curiosity. As the advertisement says, that the entire mall is for the young. We roamed the whole building and all we saw were clothing items, footwear and personal accessories for the younger generation, nothing for seniors like us. Isn’t it obvious that they are raking money because of the young people?
