Tell us what do you think of when you hear 'Cyber Security'. Do you think of some geeks sitting in a basement on their machines? Something shady and underground? Or perhaps a process created to protect global networks, computers and overall information?
We spend our time in unsafe and highly vulnerable environment without thinking that we might be exposed to all kinds of threats. I think that everyone should be educated to protect himself against such threats and attacks. What actions do you take in order to protect yourself?
No one ever thinks they will be hacked or have money stolen from an online account. But it's so common place now, getting hacked and it can really happen to anyone. No one is immune. No one is exempt from cyber threats. As you said, 'unsafe', that's the nature of the online world.
I try to keep my passwords updated of course. And, I scan my computer for malware and viruses. I don't download files or click on links from suspicious sources. Though I'm sure that's not the only way to get a computer infected.
However, I would love more suggestions as to what I can do to better protect myself from hacking, especially now that I'm using wifi. I am concerned that someone could leech my wifi signal or download stuff using my wifi that I was held accountable for.
