With Spotify, an established artist can share music via playlists and music releases, even have a profile for fans to read. Fans connect with the service through Facebook, creating playlist to share with friends (via Facebook posting or PM) and even follow artists.

They can even follow other Spotify users. The only thing missing from Spotify is the ability to comment or leave feedback for the artists or reviews for other fans. Spotify is available as a downloadable software program for desktop or as an app for smart phones. Free and paid version available.

This platform provides an excellent tool for marketing the artist's music as many times you can use the discover feature to find new artists to listen to that you might not have heard before.

The service is subsidized through paid ads and subscriptions and profits are shared with the artists.
