Checking your Facebook while talking

I don't know if this has ever happened to you. But, have you ever been in a conversation with someone (in real life) and then had them check their mobile to see who's messaging on Facebook? You would never just stop talking to a person in the room to get up and drive across town to have a conversation with another person. So why stop for Facebook? But, I know that lots of people do it. Facebook has made people forget common manners.

May be the reason is the stupid person is on the phone line and the lovable person is on the facebook Checking your Facebook while talking May be I used to watch my status while talking... (But I give very less importance to Facebook), facebook doesn't distracts me anytime.

That seems really extreme! And, rude! Though maybe the person checking was expecting an important message from a loved one. I still think it's rude.

That's really rude. Perhaps they are expecting some urgent message which requires immediate attention. However, it does not reflect well on that person's manners.

I had that experience once with a colleague. She came to my table to ask about an official topic. And while we are in the conversation, her phone sounded. Okay, maybe it’s a text or something. Continuing with our conversation, I noticed that she was still holding her phone and in a short while, she would glance at the screen and tap something. Little did I know that she was on Facebook. When she left, another colleague told me what the first one was doing. So now I avoid talking to someone who is holding a phone. For a serious conversation, I would request the person to keep his phone otherwise I will not talk.

I agree with you, I have a lot of friends online and I kind of feel more trust to them than in real life.
