Facebook decreasing organic reach for page owners

Awhile back, I noticed how many of my liked pages were not showing up in my Facebook news feed, so I was missing many of the posts and updates being made. I can still see these updates when I visit the actual page that I liked, but they are not visible on my feed. And, it seems to be part of an ongoing effort by Facebook to limit the free ride that page owners have enjoyed for a while in favor of a paid system where you pay to get your posts pushed into the fan's news feed.

And, though this is a good thing for Facebook as it increases the profits, for the page owner, it defeats the purpose of free Facebook marketing, especially since most of the content on a Facebook page is free content anyway, so why pay to promote it?

This Facebook for reach could be useful if you are advertising something. But, how many Facebook fans really want to see more ads? What's your thoughts on this situation to how it limits Facebook page owners and fans from connecting? And, what are some things you could be doing to ensure your fans are getting all your content, without your having to pay.

If you turn on notifications for a page, you will receive notices everytime that page updates. Otherwise, you will only receive an occasional update from the page unless you go directly to that page. That's how organic reach works now.
