When you advertise through a variety of different areas, it expands your traffic flow, increasing your chance of sales more widely. It provides a safe haven by having different channels. If one channel gets blocked temporarily for whatever reason, traffic still has a way to get to your product or service. I've always been a firm believer in "never leave your eggs in one basket" as in some cases, sites have a tendency of going down, or you may end up having problems in general, with the one and only place you're advertising... This could lead into major issues if you're depending on only one direction.
