Yes. Facebook did for example and was manly word of mouth. I never see Facebook.com show up in google results when I search.

Well, my fanpage came up on search results when looking for my blog. There are also times that status messages and individual posts shows up.

That's a good thing, you must get lots of traffic to your Facebook fan page then.

I have no idea on the traffic to my Facebook page from search engines, but I see a good increase of followers each day.

I'd consider that more valuable than random click throughs from the search engines as these people (coming from Facebook) are more targeted and have a better idea of what your blog post is going to be about before they get there.
