Does Bing Social Search invade your privacy?

Bing Social Search is based on recommendations by your Facebook Friends.

This video puts a very happy face on Social Search. But it all boils down to Bing being allowed to exploit your friends (and your) Likes for their search.

You can always modify who sees your likes. And, you don't have to sign into Bing. This is an optional service. It's more designed to help you make up your mind, rather than as a way to intrude on your life.

Sure they say that the social search is limited by your Facebook settings. But once Bing has this information in their databases, they are free to use it, even when you're not making searches.

I guess it is mentioned in terms and conditions. If you didn't read it then it is not bing fault, it is users fault !

Are you serious ? I mean common, who reads tos ? Who has time to read it ?
Also, if you read and don't agree to there tos, can I still use there site ? No, right ? Then what is the point of reading it when I want to use there services. :|

I guess they are made long for this purpose ! Nobody will waste there time in reading some useless crap, which involves law terms and it is quite difficult for a normal human being to understand. And I guess they take advantage of this fact

Yes, it is like most of the people do, they don't want to read the long term.... but if you have free time then you should read the terms, it would increase your knowledge, you would be able to differentiate with others..

You will realize that those tos aren't crap, once you read them. They are one of the well structured documents

Definitely sounds very Facebook like to me. This is what Facebook was accused of doing in the US election and in the UK for brexit. They used people's data to scare them into voting for both. I've never heard that Bing is doing the same, but if Facebook did it I would not put it past Bing. However they are fines being slapped on these companies especially by the EU for using people's data so I don't think that they will do it for long.
