Q: How to choose a good product to promote/sell?
A: The way I've always gotten ideas on how to sell a product is by going to the category and clicking "Best Sellers". I'll then browse through everything and see what I can get for cheap off of aliexpress. Doing this will put you in competition with the top selling items and you'll have a good ROI as well since you'll be profiting a good amount per sale. I've personally done FBA (fulfillment by amazon) and had 100 items that were the same as a top seller. I spend around $250 for the 100 items and sold them for $19 a piece ;) Not a bad ROI, right?
Q: How many reviews should a product have to be considered worth promoting/selling?
A: When searching through best sellers I try not to focus too much on reviews since they are all selling well. Some of the items may have 10,000 reviews while another has only 1,000 reviews. Don't discredit the 1,000 reviewed item because it may cost a bit more than the 10,000 reviewed item. The awesome thing about this is that the profit from the 1,000 reviewed item can accumulate and be the same as the item that was sold 10,000 times. I'm not saying the profit per sale is the same, I'm saying that the profit from the 1,000 reviewed item could be 10x more profitable because of what the seller paid for it.
Q: Should I only select products that have a big ticket price?
A: Absolutely not. I've done plenty of sales and I'd say 99% of them are small ticket items. You won't get those $100 to $200 profits per sale, but you'll be able to sell a lot more to the masses Start on small ticket items and work your way up, bootstrap it if you want. Working with a lot of small ticket items is easier to sell than a few big ticket items.
Q: How to know what Amazon's best sellers are?
A: You can click on the category on the left and then there will be a link in the top navigation/menu that says "Best Sellers". Or you can just use this link and it'll show you the top sellers for the day https://www.amazon.com/bestsellers
