You could update the page or simply link to a newer post from the older page. On the new post, you would have all the recent updates that you wanted to talk about. In this way, you could get a new page for your blog and not just update one that was up before.

I like to keep writing original content, and put a different angle to all of them. The articles I write for advertising my affiliate products are re-written, as I want the main content to be similar for SEO purposes. As for my own main articles, I don't re-write. If I feel the need to update them with relevant information I will add a couple of paragraphs or little additions to my posts.
