Buyer Cancelations Halfway Through Service. Resolutions?

Hey everyone
As above, I wanted to discuss issues regarding buyers cancelling half way through a service, or even near the completion date.

The situation for myself, and I'm sure many other active sellers here, is that some buyers intentionally cancel half way through, in order to get a free service.

My particular service is link building so most buyers would know, that for me to reverse what I have already done, the effort is hardly worth it...especially if the buyer cancels and claims a full refund.

Some of the blatantly false reasons I have had people cancel on me, 20 days or so into my 30 day service include:

1. Don't need service now
2. Didn't work
3. Sold the site

Obviously there are genuine reasons for people cancelling, but numerous times now, people have canceled on me (when I reject this, a request is sometimes placed again immediately), providing no evidence and sometimes even threatening negative feedback if I don't refund them in full within 24 hrs etc.

Just like any offline job in this world, people should expect payment for work completed if you're hired. Not work 3 weeks of your 1 month probation and then told you aren't needed anymore...just doesn't work like that, I'm sure you'll agree.

Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas whether you are a buyer, seller or both.

Thanks guys!

I had that happen to me before and the buyer even had the balls to message me after he got the refund to laugh at me and said "Thanks for the free traffic!"

Since there's no way to really resolve it here, what I always do is write a post on my own personal blog (that I control and no one can mess with it) giving all the details I have on them, including conversation screenshots, and SEO it for their name or online username, so that when someone searches them my post ranks #1 for that search. I then explain what an a-hole they are.

A couple years back a freelancer friend of mine got scammed by a buyer who wouldn't pay her, but used the articles she wrote for him all over the internet. She sent a few DMCA notices to some of the article sites, and they did comply, but he continued to use the articles on other sites, so I wrote a post about him in an effort to help her get paid. Then I started a thread about it on a 50000 member forum I owned at the time, making sure to include all the scammers details.

Then he contacted me complaining that my threads were hurting his business because Google showed those above his own business site. So, I told him to pay my friend what he owed her and I'd remove them. He gave her a small amount and then dragged his heels with excuses after excuses to her, but still asking me to remove the posts. I wouldn't budge, so eventually he did pay her the full amount a month later.

Don't let the crooks win. Maybe there should be a "name and shame" for buyers who consistantly screw around sellers. Maybe if other sellers see it they can come forward with their own experiences with these bad buyers.

Hi there!

I also received cancellation from the buyer half way during the order period. However, I rejected it. Why you guys don't reject it?

Regards,
Mai

Yes I too experiencing this problem. Many buyers giving cancellation at the midway or at the time of delivery. I got some typical cancellation requests. I sell facebook likes...Many guys ordered likes from me Once I ready for delivery, they give cancellation request as they brought from another seller.

SEOClerks need to find a solution now. Or they tell likes are Fake (even all likes are fully profiled) I need refund Or Not interested. I set deadline as 2 days they wait for 1 day I complete half the work that time. In the second day they send a cancellation request. If I reject that and continue they wait until I finish. Once I finally deliver in time they approach mutual cancellation again that You are late.

Cancelling the orders is not the problem But the effort we put is wasted And time is wasted as well. Eveyseller invested and selling stuffs here Dont know why some buyers trying to get stuffs for free...

Firstly, you need to know what you are delivering to the seller? You deliver real, real-looking or fake likes to the seller?
According to your text, I guess you deliver real-looking likes right?

Since it is real-looking, if the buyer says it's fake, tell the that they are truly fake. The buyer ordering fake. Real-looking likes mean fake but look like real and the buyer will shut up.

The the mutual cancellation after marked delivered, keep marking it delivered. If necessary, contact SEOClerks support. If they threatened you that they'll leave negative review, don't care them and continue make it delivered. When they left negative review, reply to the review and explain everything (including the buyer cheat) with a screenshot. Then other potential buyers will understand you.

Bro till now I have no negative feedback for the likes I am selling. But some buyers tends to give cancellation request after I finish. The reason they are saying as fake is user has no recent activity, they wont like the post. But many of my buyers are happy with my service.

But thats not the real reason they planned to get the stuff for free. If I deliver again they start the argument I always reply the buyer in polite and humble manner I tried to make them understand But at the last they threaten to give bad review. Most bad thing is after the order got cancelled they make another order That only hurting meBuyer Cancelations Halfway Through Service. Resolutions?

And another trick they use I brought like from another seller as well....We need to be careful and report that kind of buyers....

Did your gig's description mentioned that the users are real and has recent activity, they will like posts? If no, then use that reason.

I understand that they want to get free service, but they are doing it on SEOClerks. There is third-party (SEOClerks) protecting both buyer and seller. So if they want to propose mutual cancellation while the order is delivered, reject and mark it delivered again. If they continuously reject the order in spite of your rejections, then contact SEOClerks for help. Remember to tell them the full story and explain to them everything, the staff might side you if you're a victim.

I did that a few weeks ago when a buyer left a negative review claiming that I didn't deliver the order, when I clearly did, so I responded to every question openly on my listing page explaining the situation so that potential buyers could see that he was wrong.

SEOclerks allows you to delete open comments on your listing, if you want to, but I left his there so buyers could understand why the negative review came about. I debated with myself for a few days on whether to delete or keep the comments, but I firmly believe in 100% transparency, so ultimately I left them there, warts and all. People need to understand that some buyers are just unreasonable.

Why you don't explain to others through the respond to review feature? That is more straightforward.

I did that, but he wrote several separate comments as well that I had responded to.

From what I can see, the only way sellers are able to "almost" protect themselves is by including something on the service page.

Ie, services cannot be canceled and refunded after 24/48 hours...perhaps.

I had another one last night (2 weeks since he ordered)

First he said he'd taken the site offline- so I rejected his request.

Then he came back and said his site was flagged as spam- so I rejected his request.

Finally I asked him what excuse he was going to try and stick with, and he backed off.

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't reject or threaten me with a red when I do deliver (due this week). Let's see!

Oh no, now my turn to experience this! The stupid buyer purchased 2 orders from me and requested cancellation because of his/her negligence but I persisted to work and completed the work. At the end, he/she left 2 negative rating for me!

Hey Guys,

If you have issues like that let us know by submitting a HD ticket. We strive to make sure that buyers and sellers are both protected. We have to make tough decisions both ways but we do not want users to think that they can get a free service by attempting to cancel after the service has started. Just make sure you try to be as detailed as you can when you send us the information. Please contact me on the HD if you have any issues.

SEOClerks staff is very responsive to any issue you might have. You just have to submit those help tickets explaining the situation. I have submitted several help desk tickets, such as when another seller was copying my sales pages exactly. And, they helped me out. Another time, a buyer tried to force me to put a link to an illegal site in my signature line on another forum. And, no matter how many times I canceled, he would message back that I was to do the job. I did not want to force cancel the sale as that would have hurt my rating. So, I submitted a request for help and the sale was canceled for me, with no bad effects.

Seller tried to force you... = you are buyer since seller is already another party

Since you are buyer, I wonder why the order was your "sale" and you had the ability to force cancel the order as a buyer that will hurt your rating?

Buyers won't cancel the order if you have told everything what you are givin' to them in service description!
What makes you think so?

Of course they do. That's why sellers are complaining about it. Some buyers are straight up scammers and will cancel the order just to get the service for free, especially when its not a physical item that can be returned.

No need to explain to such kind of person, he was just merely trying to increase his posts count because we discussed about this clearly and he was the last one to reply yet he made that kind of conclusion.

& then why are you replying to my all posts in this way? Yea, you also wanna increase your posts. Isn't it?
Yup, I'm also trying to increase my posts count too but I read carefully every single post before replying.

Do you know that the above reply is the 2nd reply on this thread that rejects your thought yet you still asked same thing again while you're the last.

I was the seller and the buyer tried to force me to place the link on a forum which would have resulted in me getting banned on that forum where I had 9000 posts. Every time I sent a mutual cancellation to the buyer explaining that I would not be able to perform the service, and explaining the reasons, being he was asking me to post a link to an illegal product, he refused to allow the mutual cancellation to go through.

Every time he would message back 'i force!' And, then he would reject the mutual cancellation, meaning that he wanted me to place the link anyway.

So, he was trying to force me to do a job that I could not do. After several times of trying to deal with this buyer to make him understand that I could not place his illegal link and having him reject my mutual cancellation offer, I was faced with the option of either force cancellation or asking someone on SEOClerks staff to help. To avoid damaging my own rating which would have happened with a force cancellation, I turned the problem buyer over to a much higher power on the site and the situation was dealt with.

When asking for help from SEOClerks senior staff, I explained that I did not want to use the force cancellation option and the situation was handled.

Oh sorry, I read wrongly. Buyer Cancelations Halfway Through Service. Resolutions?ops: You previously shared 2 situations solved by SEOClerks: as a buyer; and as a seller. I was confused.
