I have been freelancing for ten years. It's possible to earn a living from it, depending on what services you are offering. There are many factors involved.

I don't think you can do permanent freelancing for years in the manner of micro-job websites, because you need to stay online daily (no free time for Christmas, nor Easter, nor Sunday, nor free days for your personal problems: like health, travel, family etc).

You can do freelancing for a while to earn some important revenues, or you need to reinvent your actual freelancing work (in almost time it would be automated).

I'm very happy with my earnings. Though i always earn very well with my writing on sites like Hubpages as it pays me even years after an article is published. It's an ideal way to earn money. Do work now, get paid for years from now even when you are not actively working.

Freelancing is not just about micro-job sites. You can get your own customers for your freelance business or sell your articles to others. You are not restricted to selling at a site.

My recommend is that you make freelancing job part time right now (work 3-5 hours Daily ) and stay focus on other Job Offline.
Once You Start Earning Decent Money Like(Earning $2000-5000+ Monthly) Then You Can Think Of Going Freelancing Permanent.

Don't Just Focus On Freelancing Job, Start Your Own Website Choose High Profitable Nice And Earn Money By Adding Adsense in it,First Start With 1 Website,Once You Are Earning $1000+ Monthly From Adsense And Create More Website(2,3,4,5 or more) And Start Money by adding adsense on all other website.

Once You start earning $1000+ Month From Adsense From Each Website,Just Keep Your Website With You For 1-2 Years And
Then Sell Your All Website At Higher Price Like $25,000 or more Per Website.Depending On How Much You Earn From Each Website.

But This Require Lots And Lots And Lots Of Hard Work.So You Get Stress Free,You Can Hire Or Partner With Some Of Your Friends.

I Hope You Like My Idea.

As they say, "Don't quit your day job!" and that's very true about freelancing. You will likely need a stable income from another source separate from freelancing until you can get your client base built up.

Very few people actually build a successful freelance career and those that do are not relying on one time customers only.

I guess freelancing can make you earn much to have a comfortable life as long as you learn the ins and outs of the industry. Bloggers, for instance, earn a lot and some others rake in money with their viral videos. There are so many ways to skin a cat, so to speak. My journey to freelancing was very rough sailing at first but now it's getting comfortable although my income remains meager that can buy only a toy car.

Online freelancing could certainly get you to the point of being able to buy a car or house if you really put the work into it. Naturally, you're not going to be able to afford those things simply by writing for content mills or doing forum posting, though.

You'll have to find a freelancing niche that you can put yourself into and really market yourself into. For instance: webpage design. People are always needing webpages designed, so if you can get a freelancing business started working on website, start recruiting more people to help out, and build your business from there, it could become a real money maker. You're going to have to branch out from low-paying freelancing places like Upwork and Fiverr, though.

I do think so, if your young and single that is. But if your middle age and married you need a lot of luck and talent to be able to support your family by freelancing.
