You have to work as long as it takes (no matter how many hours) to finish a project, even if you didn't know going in, it would take so long to complete.

Good point Beverly. There are some jobs that you might take bc you assume they will be easy but then once you get started they are really not.

Sometimes, the number of hours you work outweighs the pay you receive. Freelance work is typically well paid, but when you average out the hours it's often less than you would work in a regular job.

Working at home as a freelancer seems like the ideal way to earn money especially for the stay at home parent. However, there are many distractions when working from home, you do not have when working on a job site.

Freelancing is where many people find comfort because they are around familiar surroundings normally at home, I would rather be somewhere I can take breaks regularly and have more freedom unlike most jobs where you could be on a shop floor all day at minimum wage.

You just always assume your customers will be with you once you've done a satisfactory job. But, many times, they simply outsource to a cheaper worker who will not give the same high quality but will give more mediocre or medium quality work. And, it seems satisfactory to your former client.

So many people think a freelance career will involve lots of time off. And, that's not true. You need to treat it as a real job, not just a part time hobby.

And, when you work at home, there are many distractions as most don't consider that you are really working, though you are earning real money.

Pardon me for this negative comment. Freelancing is not an easy job and earnings can make you hungry. I am speaking as a content provider for forums. One of the best freelancing endeavor is to have a popular blog that can give you enough income to cover your daily expenses. Instead of submitting articles to writing sites, a blog of your own is much better.
